I only have 1 resume but the roles I’m applying are very specific (tech space) so I tailored my CV for those roles in general.
I also kept a separate engineering resume when I was applying for manufacturing engineer roles.

1 resume-it’s already pretty tailored to the jobs I’m looking at. All of the project experiences I listed out directly apply to the banking group I am applying to
If the roles you’re applying for are very similar, and you have all the keywords in there to cover all the roles, 1 resume works. If not, you’ve a problem. The other thing to note is that actually doing the work on your resume for every role makes you really think about how much you care for the role. And I’d argue, if you don’t care enough to even revisit your resume, why even apply. I’ve a resume checklist on my website if you fancy (apologies that the page is a bit broken for mobile - currently updating): https://www.theabundancepsyche.com/get-insider-tools

I only have one resume but it’s usually for stuff like conference, advisory gigs, etc and not proper full time jobs. Couldn’t be bothered to do a custom job unless maybe dream job.
