Looking to get a few certifications, I have worked in both IT and HR consulting and am trying to decide between ITIL, SHRM, and PMP. Any thoughts on which would be best for future, quickest to get, hardest test? I get the cert paid for and a bonus upon completion, so trying to decide which one to pursue or the order if I want multiple.
Slalom manager or senior manager comp? I’m not sure if the levels, but looking for equivalent. Looking at strategy as well
If you request a salary that’s too high does the hirer usually tell you it’s too high and offer you the salary they had in mind or just ghost you and move on to the next candidate?
Hello, please make sure you take Fishbowl's Financial Advisor comp survey! I want to make sure that we get as much data as possible. This will be great to have a resource! https://getfishbowl.typeform.com/to/sqmnir
Need advice!! Just got promoted to manager and thinking about if I should pursue a compensation discussion with my counselor. I make 25% less than my peer group. (Lateral hire)
Quick scenario: If I have a consulting offer from a different Big 4 that has a start date post-10/15, so that in theory I would not have to submit a 2 weeks notice until post-10/1 (bonus payout date) but I sign the offer pre-9/30, am I obligated (looking for both legal & professional standpoint) to tell PwC because it is with a competitor? This is essentially the exact same group at the other big 4
What’s associate Director at BCG Platinion equivalent to big4? Senior Manager? Anyone have salary range info?
Hi All, I have been selected as ACON from bridge program, and the revised package would be 7.5 LPA. Could you please let me know, what will be the variable component in this and how much in hand salary I will get.
I think it’d be helpful if those of us who have exited into Bay Area tech start a comp thread so others can benchmark. 2 yrs post-MBA BizOps manager 175 base + 225 RSUs (publicly traded, 4 yr vest)
I would love a post-busy season bonus, even an extra $1000 would go a long way and would be a nice way to say "thank you"
Does anyone have insight into compensation bands for consultants in the communications or public affairs fields? I see a lot of posts about salary for Cs, SCs, Ms, etc (wayyy more than what I make!) but I know ranges on here include some career disciplines that are typically more lucrative. I can’t tell if I’m in range for the offering I’m in or if I’m severely underpaid.
S& salary for M1/2/3? And how does the bonus look? Is there a difference in pay across different groups/ verticals ?
Question— do you share your comp with close friends? Me and my roommate have been friends forever and while I don’t really share my specific pay, Im not sure if I should share it with her. When she got promoted she told me her comp tho I didn’t ask. Today I found out I was promoted (🎉) and left that part out. She asked me if I knew what my raise would be and I just told her the % but not the actual amount. Is that unnecessarily secretive? We’re in diff industries too.
Currently making 107k at 2.5 years experience as an MC. Have an offer from a small boutique for a lateral transition,125k base and 5k signing bonus. Is it worth making the jump?
I’m being promoted to Manager this November but recent got offer from a fintech. In money term the manager base pay is 5k greater than the new role but i’m negotiating to match the offer with my Manager salary. Should I wait until promoted or move asap? I dont want to continue working in external audit so trying to pivot to data analyst role/IA in the fintech before moving to full DA/DS position… but thinking the Manager promotion would help negotiate salary in the future.
Has anyone taken the CCSK? I joined the CCSK foundation bundle course this will be my first cloud cert I know it’s open book.
Reposting in this bowl since it’s a little more active and I’m desperate for input. My little sister is being raised in a less than ideal environment and has already been through some trauma before I met her/ before her mom got with my dad. Outside of opening a UTMA account for her, is there anything else I can do to ensure she has what she needs to leave as soon as she’s 18?
Hey all. I'm hiring a Jr AD to come work on Jameson and Panda Express and a bunch of other stuff. Lots of digital and social things, video, some print and outdoor. Send link to email@example.com. Thx!
So bankers are getting Pelotons or even bonuses (10k for Moelis, 20k for citi analysts /associates) for too many work hours and the burnout feeling. Pretty sure most consultants feel the same way. Anything EY is considering doing to boost the WFH burnout morale. Can uncle Mitch buy us all a peloton to compete with industry standards
How long does it take to hear from Google with a referral for a non technical role? I applied ~ 4 weeks ago as of tomorrow and the job I applied to isn’t up anymore and I applied within three business days of it being up. I’m just trying to see how long it takes to hear a rejection because that’s probably what it is. For FB, I heard within a week for a rejection when I applied for a referral about ~1.5 weeks.
Why do previous generations feel the need to belittle the hard work of younger people? My parents always insist they used to put in as many hours as I do when they were my age, but I know it’s not true because I was actually old enough to remember it! (They could afford having a kid. I can’t)
Does it come off as arrogant when a candidate is transparent about their interviewing timeline with other agencies?
Genuine question as I wanted to know is it strange for someone to want to switch to advisory from tax. Would it be difficult for someone to transition from that position? I understand that they are too completely different work but similar fields. Also wanted to know what’s the day to day basis like for advisory during covid and in general
Hi Fishes, can someone please draw some light on the maximum package being offered by KPMG Global Services for Consultant - FDD (Deal Advisory Practice). Qualification - Chartered Accountant Experience - 2Years (PQE) Current Role - Audit Senior at EY GDS Current CTC - 10.5L
Anyone in here from AlixPartners How would you compare the work/comp/staff to Big4? Also is VP the equivalent to manager elsewhere?
Had 4 beers, 12 chicken wings, and a giant piece of cake. I'm going to sleep like a baby! And might have to go for an hour long tomorrow. But first things first, 💤
I recently moved to the US for work. Single; went out with a guy from a dating app; he cracked jokes & told what sounded like cautionary story about his friend who married a foreigner and got dumped once she got a green card. I’m confused because I’m from a “wealthy” European country, based on public information I make more than 2x his salary… is it the case that Americans assume everyone dreams about becoming American, regardless of their circumstances? And should i be offended...?
This one goes out to all the goodboyes 🐶 barking in the back of conference calls for the WFH people
401k tax question: Married US Citizen currently working abroad. I will be returning to the US in 2 months. However, prior to returning I would like to max out my tax advantage. Cont.
Can COVID be transmitted through water?
Getting rid of my Platinum Delta SkyMiles AMEX. Spoke with Delta - it doesn't help my priority for upgrades unless I spend more than $25k on the card. Only Delta Reserve AMEX helps priority.
My firm is virtual - all work done remotely in home office unless on client site. Haven’t traveled since mid October. It’s driving me nuts. What do you recommend doing?
