I’m interested in joining a local Board of Directors as a volunteer for a non-profit like Big Brother Big Sisters, Boy Scouts, YMCA, etc (or smaller even). I’m early in my accounting career, but I’ve owned multi-unit franchises, managed sales operations, and at one time was kind of active in my previous community.

How do you find those opportunities? I’m not from my current area, so I’m kind of light on connections. Just call? Google and LinkedIn haven’t really yielded anything.
