Company has a 3/31/15 year end. Is that tax year 2014 or TY 2015? Stupid, but I always mix this up..

Tax year 14. Easy way to remember is whichever year the fiscal year starts in, is the tax year. So if the period is 4/1/14-3/31/15, it's a 2014 tax year.

like

Fiscal year 2015 for financial statement. Tax year 2014.

like

2014 for tax. The way I used to have to remember it was that the 2015 tax forms won't be released until at least January of 2016. If you tried to file a'15 return, what would you file it on???😜

like

You file on 2014 forms...

Hi Folks,

Is it possible to reduce your notice period in Cognizant.
My notice period in Cognizant is 90days and joining date for new company is 1 month prior to my notice period.
Is there any option to reduce my notice period?
Or it is possible to ask my new employer to extend my joining date for another 1month.

I’ve been asked to weigh in on how to improve my firms parental leave policy. It’s currently 8 weeks paid for birth parent with an extra week for each year at the firm (up to 12 weeks total) and 2 weeks paid for non-birth parent. I’m in a major city, firm is a boutique that has been around a very long time. What would you suggest? Any studies or research you’ve seen recently on trends in parental leave policies also helpful. I’d like to have some sort of data to back up what I recommend. TIA!

Hello Fishes,

I need some advice regarding this situation and what to do. So I work for a company that offers outsourcing services to major investment banks around the world. I have been working for a new client for about six months now and they seem to like my work so far. Recently I saw that they're hiring to get people on their team at my level. My question is, should I talk to my client and try to pursue them to consider me for the role they're hiring for?
