Company (nonprofit) I am interviewing with is hosting an Open House event this weekend. I completed the interview process and was told I would hear back “in a couple weeks - after open enrollment”. I sent a Thank You email after the last interview and another email this morning, inquiring about benefits but did not receive a response.

Would it be a good idea to attend the Open House?

I personally wouldn’t…not sure if your questions would be appropriate to address at an open house, since you already complete the interview process. Might be best just to email again or call them (better option) directly in a few days.

Is it a recruiting open house? If so, definitely a no. If it’s a fundraiser kind of open house - maybe but only if you don’t ask questions about the potential job and are there to network, have a good time, and support the organization.

So I'm interviewing, have had loose salary conversation (talked about band but not specifics), and approaching the official offer stage. It's become clear the role is something I'm very well qualified for, but their pay expectations for the role are much lower than mine. How do I ask if I could be considered for a higher level position in the team in a higher salary band instead?

Guys, my manager the social media strategist just asked me how to calculate engagement rate. This is such basic knowledge. Everyone should be asked this at the interview at this point just to check if they know it.

This has ruined my day, because this is such a small instance of how incapable she is compared to me but is still in a top position. 😶
