Hey fishes,I'm a mainframe Dev (4.5 YOE) I started off with Tata C and stayed there for 3 yrs, then our BFSI client rebatched me and took me over on a full time role, as part of application takeover. There were no interview for the role. There wasn't even the notice period or any formality, it was a agreement with TCS. They kind of gave me an ultimatum to quit or be fired, due to some policy changes. Kind of a layoff thing, but TCS is reluctant to rehire me. Is there any way to come back to TCS?
Usually the first to go
You’re right OP. Projects will hang onto PDM resources due to cost effectiveness.
Layoff doesn’t affect PDM .Having said that the job security is PDM is zero as it is entirely dependent on the project itself. If any unforeseen or unfortunate events happen in the project , and the resource is not able to find a suitable role in another project , then risk of employment termination occurs . PDM has zero bench time , so getting a new project on the very next day is vital to keep the job intact. That’s the major reason why this is a brutal talent model.
