Guess their restructuring group doesn’t want to poach mids from DPW or Milbank any time soon...
I doubt kirkland’s restructuring practice will have trouble landing associates who are interested in that area anytime soon.

Interesting to me that even after all we’ve learned about firm culture in the last two downturns, associates remain so focused on tech allowances and bonuses that are a small fraction of their overall pay and and even smaller element of the factors that should play into the decision where to work. Is $18,000 or so after tax really enough money to make a mid level ignore everything else? If so I guess that’s fine but the money comes from somewhere, and that somewhere may will be the practices that’s make associates miserable.
People should just wait until the end of the year and see what Kirkland does. I’m sure someone won’t be happy and plenty of people will post messages claiming that “morale is awful” or something similar.

KE also does not give a recurring tech budget like most peers. Apparently that money is included in the “above market bonus”.

They did not. We got a one time $500 stipend a few months ago. It was nice but most of our peers do $1000 or do $500 annually. Considering that’s ~1-2 billable hours from our homes, it shouldn’t be such an issue.
What did they do?
