Confession: I binge eat. Wondering if multiple dinner charges (within expense policy) would lead to red flags with audit? I eat 2 to 3 dinners daily and I'm scared I'll be audited

Wtf??? Worry about your health more than the reimbursement

Work at better firms - we have a per diem or actuals, and actuals are for whatever you eat. There is a daily cap but how you spend it is up to you. You’re an adult, work where they treat you as one and not as a petulant child with access to mommy’s credit card

like

Pro tip: order one meal that's big enough for leftovers.

like

ACN does per diem so I don't know why that would matter.

like

Damn man. Yeah you’ll need to curb that appetite. All the firms I’ve worked for only allow like 2 meal expenses per day

I've seen people when I worked at PwC be audited for multiple meal charges for the same meal on the same day... I've also been audited at Accenture over a fucking Uber ride. I'd say you're walking a dangerous path, both in terms of audit risk and overall health risk, unless you're binge eating the cleanest, healthiest salads known to man, but I doubt you are.

like

@ACN1 Why only two? We can even expense coffee / snacks / etc. whenever we feel like on top of breakfast / lunch / dinner.

like

Expenses aside, 2-3 dinners can't be good for you. Especially if they are all after 7 p.m.

As long as you're within expense range, you're fine

Better to eat multiple small meals than few big ones

Acn, PwC, that sounds ridiculous to get audited for that. What if you bought take out meal at one place and a water from a grocery store to take back to your room to work. That would get flagged if you expense both? Our auditors don't care about multiple transactions like this as long as the total isn't above some crazy threshold.

At K I’ve never had a meal expense get audited. We don’t have a separate classification in our expense system for “snacks” so they get reported as “meals”. So even if I just buy a water in the airport, it’s a “meal”. Never had any troubles
