Confession to top many: I’m no tinfoil hat guy - but I felt machine guns were cool. So I made a trust, got a lawyer, and bought a pre-ban 1972 made machine gun with my internship money.

When I got it the law required a sign-off permission from the local police chief. Mine was def not going to. The trust bypassed the local police - requiring *just haha* the ATF, FBI, state police, and 2 class three dealers. The trust is also nice for when marriage happens and you want to add “owners” of the gun with the ability to possess it.

I’ve sold some stock and outright invested in machine guns - I think it’s better than the market right now. Three Mac 10/45s. One Mac 11/9. Then 1 SBR. Four silencers. And some hunting stuff.

like

You’re a boss!!!!

Why’d you make a trust and retain a lawyer?

Can’t you buy those if you have the class 3 (or whatever it’s called) license?

Nice, I have a bunch of sbr’s and silencers on a trust myself.

Ahhh, makes sense now . Sounds like you’ve got some good stuff. Have you found a range that’ll let you shoot any of the full autos?

Yes, but it can be a little hard. In my area, 2 don’t allow them. A third does, but weekdays only. A four allows them at any time, but keep the gun to bursts only to not worry about ceiling problems. If you went and got a belt fed, I’m sure that would be a pinch anywhere.

One of the 2 that doesn’t allow them it’s just because they have a 300 ft indoor range and that’s it. But you could drop $200 rent out the whole freaking thing or something on a weekday evening and do it that way - lol.

On suppressors, I’ve thought about picking up duplicates - kind of under the assumption the registry could get closed eventually with a future AWB whenever congress/offices flips all one way someday.

Hey y’all! So my team just hired a direct report for me. They’re joining as an AE (they have internship experience and we’re an AAE for 9mos).

While I’ve always had levels under me who I’ve helped manage, train and oversee - I’ve never had a direct report. Someone who’s development is my responsibility.

Any advice on how to be amazing for my AE?

I need some help/advice...

I have 5+ years of experience in project management, finance, and strategy and I just graduated from a top 15 full-time MBA program. I'm pursuing a role in Product Management and am about to wrap up a 12-week internship with a software startup doing just that. Ideally, I'd like to move directly into a PM role in the software space, but I'm not getting much traction. Does anyone have any experience in starting in a more "junior PM" role and working their way up?

He received an extended offer to continue working with them next fall with $72k base salary and $3k sign on. Does this sound fair? I'm pushing for him to ask for more. His background: 2 Yrs of Taxes, 5 months of reg Audit, 2 months of IT Audit. He's also completing his MS in Accounting by Dec 2022. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!
