Anyone here in consulting? I just got a job offer after some interviews that's a 47% raise from my current comp, but as a new father in his late 30s just wondering if the time away might be terrible. It's slalom consulting (emerge) which emphasizes work life balance and all that but just wanted to get y'all's thoughts.
14 months into my first agency job and I’ve been told from my CDs that I’ve been recommended for a raise. What should I ask for? I’m making 58k now and have had a bunch of work produced.
Whats the promotion levels in GDS - US Taxation?
I just got a job offer from PWC for a similar role I’m in and it was below my current salary. Yes I know I can negotiate but my main questions are how often is overtime a thing for an investigator on salary. What is the promotion and turn over rate and climate truly like in the Columbia office?
Facing a career decision: do I take the pay raise, or the position that I'm more interested in?
I live in a HCOL city and am still not being paid enough to save/live . I have all of the tools/ skill sets to leave consulting and go into big tech . Before going out to market myself and get a new job should I even ask D for a raise ? I’m frustrated because I’m adding a lot of value to my current engagements and I think I’d have a good business case for a raise. On a side note I see people leaving left and right here which is not a good sign!
Ladies I have been reflecting on something that's been bothering me a lot. Women are not getting promoted to manager fast enough. I am up for promotion this year and it feels hard to get your name out
What’s the biggest salary bump/raise you’ve had that didn’t involve a title change? Does such a thing even exist? 🙏🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼
I’m being promoted to Manager this November but recent got offer from a fintech. In money term the manager base pay is 5k greater than the new role but i’m negotiating to match the offer with my Manager salary. Should I wait until promoted or move asap? I dont want to continue working in external audit so trying to pivot to data analyst role/IA in the fintech before moving to full DA/DS position… but thinking the Manager promotion would help negotiate salary in the future.
Corp associates, just curious if you ever raise concerns about inhumane hours with your firms? I see that we’re having useful discussions about things like wfh and comp but less about hours? Aren’t those the thing that truly stands in the way of our happiness? Why aren’t we talking more about this while the market is so hot, are you worried about competition? Lack of sympathy from partners? That the comp system would fall apart? Ashamed to sound like a slacker? I’d love to hear your perspectives
I just got promoted over a friend and I am really worried about how this will impact her. To be honest I think she is even more deserving of the promotion than me. What do I do to make it better so our friendship isn’t poisoned by this?
Replying All to an obvious mistake email should automatically make you ineligible for promotion.
Manager 1. Transfer from audit into FDD (and have to do one more busy season in audit), or leave to a financial reporting job at a large public co for 40% raise?
Leaving Deloitte for a better consulting firm & a 50%+ raise. Thank you to D, if they didn’t pay me raises 1/10th the size of competitors, I would’ve never applied!
Can anyone provide a quick overview of MTS Health Partners (salary, work life balance, promotion timelines)
Up for manager promotion next year. Any disadvantages if I leave now instead of waiting another year until I become a manager?
Have you ever run into a situation where you asked for more money (either a raise or when negotiating an offer) and you got it and regretted it? What are the strings attached to more $?
Why is there a push to raise the Federal minimum wage? Why not leave this to each state?
Potentially getting a manager offer from big D’s M&A and restructuring practice. Can anyone please share the salary and bonus range for a manager position and rough annual expected completion growth rate? Location - tier one city in the US. Many thanks
Any insight into EY’s IFCS practice? Thinking of applying to their open staff role from another firm, I’d be transferring out of audit.
Hello all, Need suggestion.. I earn around 20L (5.5 yoe). Have been in the same company from last 3.5 yrs. I am in the comfort zone. Work life is chill. But due to boom in the market, i am feeling insecure. I am not able to decide whether should I switch or not. If I want to grow then I need to switch but here I am feeling very comfortable Work life balance is great and the work we do is having great impact. I am not getting the motivation to switch. Even if I do, 30% will be taken by gov.
Facebook managers, any tips for the data science manager final interview loops? Just got intimation that I cleared the screening round from two weeks ago. Have a conversation with the recruiter next week about the next steps, but any pointers would be great. The screening round interviews were reasonably easy. Is the next round an order of magnitude more difficult? Are Data Science managers expected to code or just read code? I got conflicting answers from the interviewer and recruiter.
After really bad experiences at ACN, I'm sooooo excited to accept an offer to another firm. From S&C Consultant to Manager in Big 4. From 100k to 160k. I, and HUNDREDS of others, remember how we were treated on the call center work. How you burned us at year end then paid out bonuses to EVERYONE in 2021, even new joiners who weren't with the firm in 2020 (much less saving your a$$es on call centers contracts). Oh, and not to mention laying off so many people I personally invested in (contd)
Thanks in advance for your help in enabling my DM 🙏🙏
Thoughts on going over the word limit? At 105 (limit is 100). Consultant said this is ok……
Does anyone know how long is the H1B processing time right now ? (For new visa). My case was received on May 21st - Still have not heard anything.
Are there any drawback to accepting a Consultant position at just 3 yoe at a WITCH company with above market pay?
I am a new consultant which I am excited about. However, I want to move to another firm that has more clients in my area of interest. Should I stay where I am and get promoted then leave? Or should I try to make the jump after I have worked at my current company one year.
120k with good work-life balance at a top law firm or 140k with and bad work-life balance at Mastercard.. which one would you choose and why?
This made my day😂
Do your co-workers know that you have ADHD? Do you think it would hurt your chances of making partner if they found out?
