Any tip while exiting Deloitte?
Is it worth it making it to B4 senior?
80% of our COO teams at Citadel are prior McK - you certainly wouldn’t be an anomaly.
So is the recruiting pool pretty much only MBB in terms of ex consulting? Also what are your hours like?
You’ll have McKinsey and a a C suite position at a hedge fund on your resume? As long as you have a strong network, I can see al only one scenario where you struggle to find a strategy job at basically any company, and that would be that you are over qualified.
By definition yes you will have more limited options than coming straight from McK. Depends on what you want to do after, want to stay in finance/asset management? Then it’s a wash. Want to go to tech after? Still likely doable, they just want smart people. Want to go to industrials or retail? Likely not. Most of these teams are still new and don’t have many alums, if they do check what they are doing now. from what I’ve seen these teams stay at the firm for a long time.
Assuming you are not actually being the COO but rather joining the COO’s team
Curious to hear more about what makes it a 'good gig'!
It does brand you. Most of the senior opportunities you will get going forward will be in FS. If your studies at McK were also in that space and you are comfortable with that, sounds like a good opportunity
Idk the hedge fund world much, but for what’s its worth if you take a COO position, you’ll always be a chief executive. Whether it’s current or former, you’ll have that status with you for life now (I would think), which would open up any doors down the road.
Best of luck!

Could also limit you if you want to go back to consulting or other and are overqualified as C suite. I know two people who did have to reframe the resume as a president once they left c suite jobs. This is the only issue I see w this move
