WOULD A DRINK HELP?
By going back in our own drinking histories, we could show that years before we realized it we were out of control, that our drinking even then was no mere habit, that it was indeed the beginning of a fatal progression.

I made the move from comp to hr systems. I absolutely love it and it's the perfect function for me. I was able to utilize the analytical skills I acquired in comp to make the transition. For me, the problem solving aspect of getting the system to meet your customers requirements is the most fulfilling aspect. You have to get pretty creative sometimes to come up with solutions to meet requests while making sure you're not over engineering the system and also not interfering with all the different configurations. I worked in consulting for about 5 years to really fine tune my skills with Workday. If you make the transition that way, you may need to be a little careful. The hours with consulting can be rough and unpredictable (major dislike). If you make the switch internally, your learning curve will probably be a bit slower.
Edit - I'm also happy to answer any questions you have if you want to dm me.
Thank you for this, this really gave me more insight and I’m more excited about giving this a try. The move is internal so I do believe that will help as well. Initially I came into my current company fresh out of a DA program and even though it’s early, I want to use and hone those data skills more. I’ll definitely reach out with more questions when I can. Thanks again!
As someone who is considering something similar, following, bc the hardest part seems to be getting past the resume gatekeeping at the front end.
This can be tricky / a real challenge. Best advice I can give, which you're probably already doing, is move your skills to the top of your resume and put any technical and analytical experience front and center - highlight it anyway you can (even adjust your title if necessary - obviously don't lie, but make certain it gets noticed). You want potential hiring managers to see you have the technical requirements necessary to make the move. If you don't have those skills / experiences yet - get on a project with your systems team to get the experience. Take Excel classes, etc...
What’s HRIS?
I love Workday but I know that's a bit much for smaller businesses
