Take it, you will figure it out. We were all idiot seniors once.
The reason I ask
Is that Deloitte, as a senior consultant, you’re likely 4-6 years out of undergrad. I’m only 2 years out of undergrad give or take. Is this around the pace for those firms that go associate - senior associate?
SA's will be expected to lead/own workstreams, but not the entire project. It's unlikely you'll have to manage a full team, but you may manage an associate or two
Ball out G!!! Congratulations! Love the hustle
Thanks for the kind words! I’m sure you’ll get something better, there’s always something better 🥳
OP, I left P as a 2nd year Associate for C level at D. I can firmly say that 1/2 year SAs at PwC have the same expectations/responsibilities as 2nd and 3rd year Cs. They rarely lead a team, most often they'll have an associate who they're coaching but not really directly responsible for.
Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. I’m comfortable in my current role but I know I wouldn’t be successful in an SC role at D
First year C is third year A/first year SA at PwC. Further, MBA hires come in as SA at PwC. Both those things make me confident you’ll perform fine in the role as long as you’re confident in yourself
Not terribly confident! But thank you, this is helpful context
OP, you will feel this with a lot of things in your career. Go for it, you’ll rise to the occasion.
Don't worry most managers can't lead.
What are the titles at Deloitte? Is it BA > Consultant > Senior?
For PwC’s it’s Associate > Senior, so if the above is correct, you would be the equivalent of a Consultant at Deloitte
I’ve only worked with a few folks in P&O, but they seem great from my limited exposure. Responsibility will depend on project size, teaming structure, etc like any other consulting firm. I don’t think you’ll be managing full teams per se, but likely managing associates, interns, resources abroad, and client relationships
Damn! Please run away!!!
Congrats! How did you come upon this upon this opportunity. Also a C1 and would love to join PWC in their Operations practice for HC or LS
If they offered you the job, they think you will be great for the job. You beat out tons of other people! Trust the people hiring - you're good enough!!
Go for it!! You’ll figure it out along the way!
Also which team/dept. is the offer in? Just wondering bc the team I had an offer for us currently in a hiring freeze.
Ah definitely makes sense!! Good luck, you are going to do great!
If you don’t mind me asking how much was the pay bump? Before and after?
Idk how long you plan on staying in consulting but you'll almost certainly make more at d
