How do you tackle ignorant managers and favoritism in the team ?

My boss asked me to take care of some of the details of a project for her—the stuff that isn't really my area of expertise. And now I feel like a shirker because I haven't been able to finish them yet.

I'm incredibly burnt out and have been actively looking. The interview process is moving much faster than I anticipated with two promising opportunities.

However I learned that another teammate is also leaving and my boss is taking a few weeks for personal leave. My impending two weeks may conflict with her taking well earned time off.
