Considering bringing aging parents (65+) from India and sponsoring their Green Card. They will not be eligible for Medicare for first 5 years after becoming a resident. What are the options for getting medical insurance for them for initial 5 years that cover preexisting conditions?

Need to have paid Medicare taxes for 40 quarters, that is 10 years, in the US. That pretty much makes it impossible for retired foreign parents to become eligible for Medicare in the US..

Following. Similar situation. OP- are only citizens eligible for Medicare? Any other criteria (eg having worked in the US for x number of years)?

Residents are eligible for Medicare but only after 5 years. You will need to pay full premium if you have worked for less than 10 years in US.

Are there any Commission based professions (ex Insurance agent, property agent, financial advisor etc) where parents can work part time on their pace and become eligible for employee insurance? Fine with paying premium as long as the coverage is good and does not have exclusion on pre existing conditions.

OP someone posted a similar question few weeks back and people recommended options for paid Insurance. I would suggest searching for that post. If I remember right, people were talking about $1000 a month premium that covered everything.

Do they have health insurance from India that might cover abroad? Worth a check

The travel insurance from India works in short term and there are limitations on eligibility once you become a Permanent Resident

Looking for some MBA advice. Went to Indiana U and had mediocre GPA due to mental health struggles. Got medicated and saw a therapist and got a 4.0 my last semester. But still ended with 3.2 gpa. I am a good standardized test taker and am confident I can do well on GRE/GMAT. Given my poor undergrad GPA, am I a non-starter for an M7 MBA? Looking to improve myself as an applicant over the next year or so by seeking out leadership opps within and outside the firm. Any advice is appreciated!

Anyone here filed green card thru marriage? Can you please guide me through the process if you have?

The pressure at work has increasingly led to a strain on my mental health. I have allowed myself one too many times to prioritize the needs of others (clients, PPMDs, etc.) before my own and the price is showing in my inability to highly perform like once before. I’m at the point of not caring about anything any longer, even if that means risking my job. I’m not sure the reason I’m posting this—perhaps I’m seeking guidance or maybe I just needed to vent. Sigh…

I’m mentally breaking down because I have been doing a job of a scheduler, PM, notetaker, regulatory submissions, and thus have no room for growth to work on strategy. I’m an AS and I am so sick of having to remind everyone because no one looks at my notes, recaps, and no one remembers anything from any meeting. Recently because I’m so exhausted I started making more “mistakes” like not catching a mistake on a submission. Is this because I suck or is it time for me to move off? I feel terrible.

How do you repeatedly turn down work for one partner or effectively avoid working with a particular person within your firm? Assuming hours are met and your standing is strong otherwise. One partner at my firm is destroying my mental health and knows few boundaries. I don't want to actively transition from our ongoing matters but sure as hell don't want to take on anything new... I feel lucky to have a job, but it is getting very depressing and difficult to get up for work.
