Considering buying a home for the first time. Do I need to stop applying for credit cards 120 days out from the mortgage application (or more)? I spoke with a local mortgage broker and he told me I don't need to stop applying but I don't think he understands credit card travel hacking. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot. I have a credit score in the 800s, no debt, will have a small down payment.

Weird scenario - gave my 2 week notice at a previous firm in March 4 and left 18th. During that time bonus numbers came out and during my exit interview HR did state that “im not eligible for bonus”. Fast forward to today - bonus hit my account and checked my paystub on ADP which clearly stated “annual performance bonus”

Question - can previous company claw it back or am I free to use to it since it hit my account?

Hypothetically speaking: You are interviewing w/the Hiring Manager. You are enthusiastic, well-versed and appropriately caffeinated. Throughout the interview, the HM yawns on camera - 4 times. Not your average yawn, more like a hippo yawn - including the sound that comes with it. Would you think they heard your answers during those yawns? Should you expect an invitation to the next round?

Let’s say you did pretty good at interview, and the company (Google) is willing to give you an offer, but team lead at the end of interview asks you about GPA or experience on your resume, etc. Like in reality you got GPA 2.0, but u told them your GPA is 3.5 Would you take a risk and lie?

Currently put travel/dining on CSR, use Freedom for the quarterly 5% categories, and put flights and everything else on Amex. My girlfriends and I booked a non-refundable room for our New York trip coming up in a month. The reviews were ok on the booking website, but as we're reading more recent reviews on tripadvisor and google, the hotel is quite horrendous (bed bugs, mice in rooms, mold/mildew in bathroom, hair on bedsheets and towels, luggage being stolen in an unsupervised luggage area....). Is there anyway we can get a full refund for the room? I'd rather book another place before the trip than take our chances
