Hi all, new to fishbowl. I am currently a PTA working in homecare. I am considering changing career paths to non-clinical. Everything I search for available jobs in the pay range that I need seems to come up as sales, (Sr, executive, etc) I have zero sales experience, but could see myself working as a healthcare liason, recruiter, care coordinator, or pharm sales rep. I live in Dayton, OH. I would love some insight or feedback. I also see Gpac recruiting popping up, is this a reputable co? Ty!
Subscribe yourself. You just may not be able to afford everything. But that helps you see how much BS is out there
You can write them off at least.
What kind of tools are you guys using?
become an adjunct at nyu/columbia/any university
You could always figure out ways to make your own surveys & spend $500 or so buying an audience. I’ve been a strategist for nearly a decade and sadly only 2 places I’ve worked at had Simmons. Most smaller agencies rely on client info and google sadly. Maybe social data but so few tools tell you the why unless you do qual. And trends tools are usually an amalgamation of secondary research anyway.
Aside from Simmons, I’ve found you can get almost every kind of info through desktop or your own research (google surveys is awesome with this can field an audience for you; similar to doing a man-on-the-street). Even industry data like what Mintel sells can mostly be found by piecing together other desktop data. Just find yourself a jr to sift through it all & put it together for you
once you’re forced to do with tools, you realize how much you can patch together by being scrappy. I think it makes you a better planner
*without tools
If you need those tools to do the job, you’re not ready to add enough value as a consultant to make it work
Surveys and things like are definitely valuable! Pass that cost on to the client or build it into your fee!
1. Do a part time at another agency as a freelancer.
2. Request access to database
3. Use database for your own mandates

Also curious to know — which databases/tools do you find most useful?
