I’m in NYC and haven’t left. Often wondering if it’s worth it anymore. Every reason I came here is basically off the table now. And it’s expensive. I think I’m too stubborn to pack it up though, but definitely having thoughts about it.
Rising Star
I feel the same way
Considering moving out too since the coty is so expensive. But the places I want to move to have limited career opportunities compared to NYC so it's been a big debate
Pro
I officially packed my stuff up after being there for four months in lock down. 1) the perfect opportunity/reason to get approval to move out of NY; 2) everything everyone commented above; 3) I can always move back. My firm always needs people on NY, so relocating there is easier than relocating out of NY.
Same same. Native Coloradan, i’ve been in Colorado since late April.
After spending April in a dark Manhattan apartment/cell, & now living in Colorado and going to Hot Springs on weekends... I have to find a way
I dream about moving from nyc to Portland OR (fell in love with the place when I was on a proj there)
For the record, I visited Seattle and hated it! I’d not prefer to mover there which is a shame as a lot of tech companies have their HQ there
Anyway I liked Portland as I instantly felt a sense of belonging and also the cheap w**d
There’s truly just nowhere else like it. You guys don’t think it will go back to normal soon?
The only place I find comparable is LA solely due to weather but all facts considered I still prefer NYC due to atmosphere
Also considering NY to TX. The price to live in a box here is becoming increasingly insane.
I'm wrestling with the exact same scenario. Haven't been at my apartment in NYC in months and given the situation, the appeal going forward will be lower.
There are good opportunities in Denver as well. It's my favorite city in the US.
Already asked managers about Texas. Seems like a green light
Same struggle. Lease is up in August and not sure what to do.
I want to leave. Problem is I can’t imagine taking another bar exam and not sure how I can transition into a non-legal field.
That’ll work. Maybe throw in LLC at the end, make it sound official.
