Considering offer at a peer firm in London which pays UK scale (not cravath and no COLA, but cravath scale bonuses). Hours req at new firm is 1800 and would be doing PE instead of high yield finance. Would mean taking an approx USD70k paycut. Thoughts?

The no COLA is _significant_. If you got an offer at this firm, couldn't you try to get an offer at a firm that pays better? In London you have more holiday but it's still deal work. I'd keep looking. ~lived in London twice, it's awesome, but expensive!!!

I think Simpson is hiring PE with COLA in London but could be wrong.

U.K. scale or London scale? We talking Ashurst/Travers or CC / Links?

Ah gotcha. From what I understand, the work life balance is not that much better even if billables are lower. I have friends at Kirkland and at Latham in London. Fwiw your take home will be lower than in the U.S. but you’re not paying for healthcare and the take home is net of mandatory retirement contributions (which the firm has to match)

PE market for juniors in London doesn’t seem to be as hot as high yield - so not much opp to leverage - but if anyone knows who is hiring for PE with COLA then please post here

Hi. I'm a fresh MBA graduate from IIT-B with no prior work experience. This Covid has taken a toll on the opportunities for fresh graduates and I'm looking out for people who could guide me or refer me for the same. I have 9 months internship experience across marketing and operations domain and 6 months experience of running my own business which I had to close down. I've been a freelance Content writer and event organizer as well. It'd be really helpful if you could help me with this. Thanks.
