I’m looking for WLB, learning and growth in Web UI development, relocation opportunities outside India, yearly/ performance based increments & promotions, chance of permanent WFH. T-Systems, Nagarro, TCS, LTI, Dassault, CDK Global - offered salaries are almost similar, 5-10% more or less. I’ve accepted Nagarro but will decline a few soon. Am also keen on Dassault. ~6.2 YoE as Web UI dev.

How much maternity leave did you all take? I get 12 weeks paid but I’m thinking about taking additional unpaid leave. I feel uneasy about coming back to work after 12 weeks but curious to hear everyone’s experience (and if you regret not taking more at the time). Trying to figure out my ML plan and how much time off to take.

My division has a PD day for teachers while the students are having a remote learning day. On the itinerary for our workday (for which we were expected to come IN) includes a one hour VIRTUAL webinar (on content that could be covered in 20 minutes total, yet this is our 4th hour so far), and FOUR hours allotted for department discussions of ONE lesson that was taught using the content of the virtual webinar. I have never felt so professionally insulted as I do this year!

How are you encouraging students to DO science while remote learning? When online, most of my students stay muted and won’t collaborate. Also, most “labs” have turned into analyzing data instead of student-led.

What would you do? Have a flight to JFK and there’s a J train that takes me straight to the air train to the terminal (cost would be $10.50) or take an Uber to JFK (cost would be like $72.60).
