I took a week off to study because that’s all I could afford 😅
I treated it as a project and it went well in the end

I know quite a few folks that took sabbaticals to study so v doable
Coach
As long as your sabbatical doesn’t show up on your CV and can be sidestepped during your app/interviews, then sure.
But if adcoms find out then it’s not a good look considering that even IBers can still get high scores while working up until stupid o’clock.

A1 sure, you could equivocate or lie I guess. I wasn’t including those as possibilities in my original statement.
Highly suggest. Did this but still wasn’t enough
8 weeks until test date? I’d be wary about round 3 admission and without knowing your background/goals, and may suggest to apply ED1 in the fall rather than the crapshoot, which is round 3.

Is it bad to apply in Round 3?
Coach
You’re competing for less spots so your chances are lower, I usually hear that more unique candidates or “stats beasts” tend to make the cut. Personally, I would wait for R1, and I’m from one of the poorest countries in Africa.
Don’t apply for round 3. You’re competing for 50-100 spots (maybe) at that point and mostly veterans. Do round 1 and maybe go for the GRE. I just did GRE and got into Wharton
