Considering transferring to big 4. Will just taking exams be enough for an experienced hire or do i need the license? Hopefully they're desperate enough right before busy season for the former

You asked about Big 4.. why settle by going to KPMG?

like

I thought big 4 were still laying off people?

like

We won't hire you unless you passed the exam. You don't need the license because that is just an inevitable certainty if you passed the exam.

Just have one of your friends from B4 to refer you.

They are

I'll refer you!

^^^OMG I actually like KPMG because NBA perks let's do it

Probably because it's better then where im at rn

Don't be so sure OP.

I was at Deloitte for a few years before switching to KPMG, Deloitte does some things better and KPMG does some other things better, but all big four are pretty much the same IMO.

I am currently having thoughts about how I should advance my career, and which path I should take.

I currently am compensated about 250k TC as a Senior Staff Engineer. I am wanting to reach for double, not necessarily any time in the near future (my goal is ~5 years). I currently have 10 years of experience. I feel that I am already pretty close to the pay ceiling for my role.

Should I be shooting for Principal engineer or a Senior Manager/Director/VP seat for my goals?

I got hit with a Covid layoff. How discriminating should I be about my next step? I've got about a decade of experience in big law, general commercial lit. I've wanted to go in house for a few years, but positions for pure litigators are few and far between. I'm applying for in-house and firm positions, and also a few firm administrative roles that I don't want to do. Should I just take anything I can get?
