Serious question: I’ve worked in MBB, Big 4 and tier 2, and the number one reason I’ve heard for younger (less than 5 YoE) talent leaving is that they are “not doing strategy work.” It’s also the top request from younger staffers to do on every engagement team I’ve led. The question: Are there any consulting firms really letting new talent do this? Or is this the top delusion of new MBAs entering the consulting world?
Currently Audit senior 2 looking to transfer to advisory. Exploring some internal advisory roles as well as external roles with mid sized firms - looking for advice on Big 4 advisory vs. with a mid sized firm? Personally I feel like I would get more exposure to different projects/clients at a mid sized firm, where at big 4 would prob be pigeoned holed in a specific niche sector/industry with little flexibility to try other things. TIA
Thoughts on using an offer from another big 4 to transfer groups within your current firm? How often does your firm tell you to just leave vs. granting the transfer?
Debating if I should take up a Mck lateral EM offer vs a Director level IC role in F500 in an industry I was before getting my MBA? TC is similar between the two offer, but trying to see what are other factors I should use to evaluate the two offers? For context, I am a manager at B4 and targeting SM promotion by 2022-2023 - so not taking any offers is also a viable option.
Anyone interested in equity or investment research? My firm is looking for Japanese speaking analyst (entry level). I’m Ex-big 4 audit and was recently hired on. Comment if interested.
Why stay at a big 4 when tech companies are paying way more, with great benefit, and stock options? Is there light at the end of this tunnel?
For those in big 4 tax technology groups, do you guys learn enough programming/coding skills to be able to pivot to tech roles? Would you recommend accountants who are looking to transition into tech to go this route?
Non-US / UK consulting partners - I have been long following the posts here. What I realise is that the US partners feel very strongly that being a B4 partner is best opportunity once could have (maybe just followed by FAANG). With the $1M+ pay and a pension, potentially it makes a lot of sense. With no pensions and some of start ups, Tech companies paying more in other countries, global roles (vs local focus) - what are your views about considering opportunities outside B4
Hi fishers, I'm a Programmer Analyst with over 2.8 years of experience in SAS and SQL. My preferred location is Chennai/Bangalore. Currently I'm looking for a job switch and it's kind of urgent. Can someone please refer me in any of the Big 4 companies if there are any openings for SAS and SQL. Thanks in advance..
Which schools should I target with a 730 gmat, 3.6 gpa with a business degree from a top 20-25 university, and 3 years experience at big 4 in management consulting? I’m also a white male.
Seeing a lot more B4 to MBB laterals on this app lately. Those who made the jump, how has it been?
Got an offer from KPMG for Consultant in SCCM role for US based project. Could any one tell me how is the Infra wing here, my friend use to work for Deloitte and the work environment in his project is sooo pathetic. Resource crunch, no leaves, every 4th Saturday work activities, blah blah blah So I am worried if that is the case with KPMG or other big 4 as well. And if anyone can tell what would be the perfect package for the role with YoE 4.5, offered 14.5LPA as fixed.
I'm a MSBI developer with 3+ yoe also upskilled to Power BI. Looking for opportunities in any of Big 4 companies. Please help me with referral. TIA
Does anyone work in cloud strategy? I am just about to matriculate out of ccg into cloud strategy group at Deloitte. What sort of work do they actually do? (I’ve seen previous posts but not much detail) Also, do other Big 4, ACN and MBB also have cloud strategy practices? If so, how do they compare?
New consultant here - when people talk about Strategy & Operations, what exactly is the operations side and what do they do? Coming from the perspective of the B4 firms having the more prestigious S&O group, but also having a separate supply chain/operations group? What’s the difference between the two ops groups?
It seems like a lot of people, at least on FB, jump from big 4 to big 4. Is the grass really greener? Doesn't seem that common within MBB.
Stellar review, 113%billable target, sold new engagement (client penetration), and not even a measly raise that would be in line with COL (because I am at top of band)? Im feeling jaded AF now and ready go, hell even a lat move with better benefits would be a better move. Don’t sing my praises with words and no action
Applying for an associate role at Alvarez & Marsal at their UK office - Consumer & Retail. I come from an operational consulting background. Anyone aware of the interview process and what to look out for? I am slightly worried about the case study, and not sure how to prep.
My parents (different citizenship status than me) are visiting me and I have been trying to get them a booster dose in Pennsylvania. 1. They don’t have any medical insurance in USA 2. They got astrazeneca as their primary vaccines. Any word of advice on how do I schedule their booster dose? CVS/RiteAid just turn us away saying they don’t know what to do.
Hello fishes. I gave 2 rounds of Interviews with Deloitte USI for Senior Analyst role. Both the rounds went well, one with Exec. Director, the other with VP. After the 2nd round, the HR has become unresponsive, not receiving calls. I am not sure if I am a select or not even after 10 days. Not received any regret mail also. Can anyone give any idea how long should I wait to get a confirmation? 8 YOE! Deloitte USI
Giving notice soon for in-house role, and thinking about giving more than 2 weeks. Is this dumb? I'm getting ramped up on work on very small teams, and things are being planned in advance for clients with my schedule in mind, but I know I won't be here for that. The split will be an amicable one, and I have no reason to think they would fire me on the spot (big "culture" emphasis here), although of course that's a concern. Anyone navigated this before and have any insight?
Hi I am a digital marketer with a MBA in Marketing Management and 4 years of experience in Social, SEO and Growth Marketing. I am looking for an opportunity at any of the FAANG companies or any Service based Tech companies in US. Thanks In advance
When interviewing for a job, is it in my benefit to say I was laid off because of COVID or should I pretend as if I’m still employed?
I decided to formally open a design studio and wfh forever. The last two years have blessed me with autonomy I've never known. I'm looking for gems of advice or resources you might have. Mt. Freelance has been invaluable.

Family law associate. I run a docket of about 40-50 cases and work about 50 hours a week. I currently make about 125K (self-employed, no benefits). Between jury trials for CPS termination cases and the highly adversarial nature of family law, I find this job to be incredibly draining, as I have horrid work/life balance and struggle with constant anxiety. I recently got an offer with a personal injury firm. 110K, full benefits, for a non-litigation/docket manager role. Thoughts?
Looking for folks to join our ESG team at the BA/ASC level. Org and DEI backgrounds preferred. Client facing. DM me for more info.
Current employer (not ProtonMail) pushed relocation deadline to NYC to end of Feb (from end of Jan initially). Working remote for the time being. Given how things are in the city rn (omicron, winter, lack of housing inventory), would it be better to try shooting for late Feb move instead of sticking with original plan of end of Jan move?
Hello all. This is my first post. I am looking for a referral for Amazon. Field: Security engineering Yoe: 2 Thanks
