I get a cheaper hotel room at a tier 2 hotel (Courtyard, residence inn). This way PM can approve a car rental for the week and I drive to the nearest box for Drop In class (usually below $20 per day approved by Deloitte).
Side story, I load up on protein shakes and fruit at a grocery store for breakfast and snacks (since I have a car now). I've managed to lose 5 pounds this month following this method 😁 not a lot, but significant progress based on my past 6 months since joining the firm.
Plan on going to a CrossFit gym 3-5 times a week. I like having classmates/coaches challenging me to push through the workouts. And you feel great after
I usually got Mon-Thurs at client site and then do other activities on the weekend i.e. hiking, skiing, spin classes
I go to a box close to my hotel and get a ten-pass instead of full time membership if travel is irregular. I also go to the 6am session so plenty of time to get back to hotel, shower and get ready for work. I've been in cities where I go to work directly from the box too. I don't expense the membership but do expense transportation to and from. I've managed to keep up CrossFit over 4 years of consulting in more than 6 cities :) it's doable!
Used to do cross fit, now use class pass and do hiit, boxing, yoga, etc. Classpass has some crossfit
I do Crossfit at my home box fri, sat, no exceptions. And I do a personal training session with one of the coaches on Sundays, also no exceptions (bc nowhere in my city has Sunday Crossfit, if they did I’d do that). If it’s a rough week and I only get to do that, it’s enough to keep me from getting brutally sore next week.
Ideally, I’d get in at least one workout on the road (box there or something from my trainer in the hotel gym), and / or get home early enough Thursday to go to a Crossfit class at home.
