Hi fishes! To any fellow FP&A ladies in the room: Just joined an FP&A team with no prior FP&A experience... What makes a strong, high performing FP&A analyst? The long and the short of it. I was laid off a couple of months ago, the clients on the account I ran loved me. Can I hit the client up about freelance? The non-solicitation part in my severance package mentions something about a year (which hasn’t passed yet), but still I’m no lawyer and it’s mostly mumbo jumbo to me.
Ideas for client gifts this year? Typically has been a nice bottle of wine, but only to the clients I had previously shared drinks with so I knew they were wine drinkers.

What are your home office must haves? I lateraled to a new firm that is giving me a $500 stipend for home office equipment, furniture, supplies, etc. But I can't use the stipend for anything they have already provided me (keyboard, mouse, dock, monitor). I do plan on getting a printer. Any other ideas?

I’m 30 years old and have been running my own (small) agency over the past two years, working with local businesses. I’ve got a solid book of client and spec work, with creative ad copy. I’ve also written for Sports Illustrated, so I can write anything from articles to ad copy. Before that, I worked in communications at a few law firms. Now I’m looking to work at an ad agency as a copywriter. Honest question: is it a reach to pursue that? And, if it isn’t a reach, do I apply for entry-level?
I’d like to get poached by my current client. Besides doing a good job and networking, how can I make this happen?
Just transferred firms and I feel like a failure. I have no idea what’s going on in the project, feel like no one likes me, and I’m not doing a good job. I feel like just going back to my old firm.

I started a new job a month ago and I think I've made a huge mistake. I wanted work life balance, went to a well-known company that has a reputation for it, and have quickly learned that this will be quite the opposite. I am beginning to panic. How do I deal with applying for jobs, specifically the issue of "erasing" this job from my work history without getting in trouble? I feel weird stating that my last job is my "present" one but is there any other option?
Any advice on applying for a STD just before starting a new project? I don’t want to mention anything before it’s approved but also feel extremely guilty
