I have an inept client who projects her own insecurity and failures on me and my team. Be sure to internally communicate risks early and often, document document document

Having this exact conversation today. Thank God I was about 3 weeks

Document document document. Get your partner and team on board so that they can deal with the politics without it causing you to be rolled off. Because if not, that's what will happen. Client not liking you is a sure shot way to out. Perception is reality.

PM1 is right on. Also, what's your level within your company, OP? Do you have a senior manager or partner or someone else to talk to about this? If the contract really goes south, nobody *should* be blaming a junior person on the project.

Normally if you’re in touch with your team they know what’s not ur fault or you’re responsibility, and someone senior on your team can manage the clients impression

The long and the short of it. I was laid off a couple of months ago, the clients on the account I ran loved me. Can I hit the client up about freelance? The non-solicitation part in my severance package mentions something about a year (which hasn’t passed yet), but still I’m no lawyer and it’s mostly mumbo jumbo to me.

I’m 30 years old and have been running my own (small) agency over the past two years, working with local businesses. I’ve got a solid book of client and spec work, with creative ad copy. I’ve also written for Sports Illustrated, so I can write anything from articles to ad copy. Before that, I worked in communications at a few law firms. Now I’m looking to work at an ad agency as a copywriter. Honest question: is it a reach to pursue that? And, if it isn’t a reach, do I apply for entry-level?
