Controversial pet peeve that I have to *respectfully* vent about because I’m seeing it a lot on here. “Google is your friend” lol, we’re literally all on this app to hear from humans who feel and experience. If I ask on here, it’s because I don’t want to read articles on Google, but want to hear from you guys what you think and what your experiences are. And a lot of you answer 🙏 but there’s always those few “Google is your friend” people that drive me wild 😭

I do think some questions here can be so broad that they become very hard to answer as the onus is on those taking the trouble to engage and answer and feels like lazy/easy post a question. Sometimes. I find this platform really useful for precisely worded questions.

“Google is your friend” people are all in the same boat as “you need therapy” people, all being led by the great captain obvious.

There are a lot of sourpusses on here. Pay them no mind. Some of us do try to be helpful when we can.

FB is super useful if you have specific questions. It is not useful and is quite frankly a waste of everyone’s time if you cannot identify what you do not know. Put into the analogy of case interviews, you want to come here once you have a sense of the structure and how to do a case, and are looking for case partners/specific feedback. You do not want to come here and ask someone to teach you how to case without knowing anything. Then there are questions which are truly a quick Google (e.g, what is a mega backdoor)

PS: I’m talking more about things like on Confession bowl or the city bowls - in other words, the more “human interaction”-esque bowls. For example, I saw someone post recently that they’re new to the US and would like to know about people’s experience with celebrating MLK day and how they do it/what things they could do as a newcomer to celebrate. Someone responded with “Google it” 🤣 like at that point, get off of the conversational bowls and stick to the Advertising/straight edge ones. If you are asking for career advice, I do agree that the question should be clear and concise.
