Conversations w my counselor have gotten to a point where they’re saying if I don’t do really well on my next two jobs, I most likely won’t get promoted to senior. Should I just try to find a new job while i’m ahead or wait it out? Staff 2 for reference.

Unfortunately no friends at other firms. I went to a small school and was the only accounting major that graduated that semester. Will act on these other items though... thank you!

I want the promotion, but I had a senior who gave me a pretty bad review. Made it seem like I couldn’t do things independently b/c i’d get something 80-90 pct and then get stuck on one item, and instead of explaining what I need to do for this one off item, they would just take it from me and then say I can’t work independently. They used those instances to justify writing in my review that I lack the technical knowledge to be a senior. I tried explaining to my counselor how I would take on GDS questions and help them resolve issues and the other things that show I can work independently, but she wasn’t trying to hear any of it. Idk what to do at this point. I’m a big “keep fighting and push through” guy, but I feel like i’m running into a wall. Any thoughts?

I was about to ask why you wouldn’t focus on doing a really good job on the next 2 audits and try to understand what you find challenging about auditing but then I read this. Not cool. Move on.

Take it as a sign to get a move on finding a new job.

Just got an offer in a boutique firm to do civil litigation. I am currently in tax, so I have no experience whatsoever.
