My wife since she’s gotten pregnant is completely ungrateful, in-passionate, and expresses displeasure 10 fold over any sort of positive emotion.
I don’t know how to make her happy. I make a shit ton of money, I do the cooking, I do the cleaning, I do the yard, I drive her to and from work. She shows little to no affection and constantly complains about stuff…. Someone please tell me this is just a pregnancy hormone thing… please
For the Vatican and colosseum, I would make reservations ASAP so that you can avoid the long waits.
Just brought my SO for their first time and these were the highlights:
-Giardino degli Aranci (super peaceful, nice place to chill)
-Marcelo Theater
-Pantheon
-Spanish Steps/Trevi Fountain/vicus Caprarius (need to book in advance!)
-Baths of Diocletian
-Palazzo Massimo alle Terme
Rome seems like there’s nothing to do outside the vatican, spanish steps, and colosseum but it’s a big sprawled city. We were there for almost a week and did the first timer stuff plus stuff I didn’t see my 1st trip and there’s STILL more we didn’t get to. So wouldn’t recommend a day trip unless you’re staying longer.
In terms of food and drink, some of our faves:
-ch1887: probs the coolest bartender you’ll meet, amazing drinks, super informative, would have gone there every day if it was closer
-Suppli on San Francesco
-Pasticceria Valzani (if you like cannoli)
-Freni e Frezoni (for unique cocktails)
-Frigidarium (my fave gelato on the trip)
-Stalin (nice tall strong drinks)
-Pizzeria Mediterranea (great square pizzas, don’t sleep on the potato and sausage or the funghi)
-La Tavernaccia da Bruno (get the veal brisket or wild boar white ragu, so good)
-Mercato di Testaccio (amazing food options)
Rome is very busy so would highly recommend reservations wherever possible. Enjoy!

🙏 for taking the time to write
Other than the obvious (St. Peter’s, Coliseum, Parthenon, etc), Pompeii and Naples was a really cool day trip. Definitely plan a night to go bar hopping and get some nightlife too, if that’s your thing
That’s fair. In Naples we mostly just walked the waterfront and ate at a local restaurant or two. That excursion was mostly about Pompeii
Book the big city bus tour - hop on and hop off. It will allow you to see all the main attractions!
