Help - want to propose to the GF soon. I wanna buy a nice ring possibly as a surprise, but have no clue about the steps of this thing. What's the proper sequence (this is my first guess).

1. Ask her parents
2. Discuss about the ring/stone etc?
3. Buy the actual ring
4. Plan a surprise proposal

For added context, we already discussed the wedding and also possibly going for lab diamonds.

TIA for your help 🙏

Starting a new job at Applied Materials on Monday as a Manufacturing Engineer III. I’ve been out of college for 5 years and all of my work experience till now has been in R&D for start ups and small businesses . So not only is this a new experience for me going into such a large company but also a industry (semiconductors). Does anybody has tips or advices on what I should expect as a new hire and how I can set myself up for success? Thanks!

Perspective. I’m retiring from the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive. I have a graduate degree pursuing a doctorate, LSSBB, ScrumMaster, SPHR, and PMI-ACP. How should I approach an ominous zoom appointment with supervisinpartner and managing partner? I’m a 3rd year associate. This is a new job, my first day was the first day the whole firm worked from home. It’s also much more challenging and demanding than my previous firm, which is what I wanted, but I haven’t been able to dive in and face the challenge the way I had planned to because I’m really struggling with working from home, both logistically and psychologically....

I’ve been seeking graphic design jobs at a junior to senior level. I’m seeing many jobs available in the areas I want to work. With limited free time, is it more important to update my website and Behance or should I apply first? While the job openings are time sensitive, I’m worried that my outdated website and portfolio are costing me potential job opportunities.

I have a couple questions:
1. How many hours are all TAS Managers/Senior Managers/Directors working per week currently?

2. What is the typical pay range for a FDD Senior Manager/Director? Done research but there is not too much data when you get to the higher levels.

3. What are the typical outlet routes out of FDD? I like the idea of operational or strategy based but not sure where to go from here.

Having confidence to take the next step in your career is all about the process.

Thoughts —> Beliefs —> Actions —> Outcomes —> Repeat

This virtuous cycle is a continuous feedback loop that builds on itself.

Focus on positive thoughts and let the negative ones float on by.

When thoughts become beliefs, take action.

Outcomes give you data to help adjust your approach and build confidence.

Hey everyone! Just for hopes of helping people a little better—let’s not just criticize the way people do things (example: someone posting their résumé and commenting “don’t use this resume”), but instead provide some effective feedback (example: I wouldn’t suggest using this résumé because etc., instead I would suggest etc.). We’re all here to be helpful and/or be helped. Let’s do that.
