Could a CD from Droga give me some notes on my book?

Probably. Find them on LinkedIn and send them a persuasive and entertaining email or message asking them if they would mind.

Let me give you some advice. The people at good agencies like mine are busy. Droga5 people are busier than most because that place is a bit of a sweatshop. We’re also inundated with great books. I probably see 3-4 books with people I’d love to hire and can only take 1-2. That’s out of say 20-25 books I’ll look at. Probably out of 200-250 books that get sent to creative recruiting. That’s it. That’s what you’re up against. And you’ve chosen to do nothing but beg. Nothing to catch anyone’s attention. Nothing to demonstrate why I or anyone else should look at your book. Just entitled begging. Why don’t you try asking people who have nothing better to do? There are a lot of mediocre, less selective agencies out there that might consider taking a flyer on whatever you’ve got. Their CDs might not have anything better to do. (In case you didn’t pick up on the disdain, it’s because you’re offensively entitled and stupid).

Two things to think about here: 1. CDs are usually too busy to give feedback to a junior. Reach out to copywriters. Get them to like you, then, once they do, ask for an intro to their CDs. 2. Maybe take a break from fishbowl for a bit. You've become infamous on here and are turning people off from wanting to help you - as is obvious from many of the comments on your posts.

I’m concerned about my mom’s health and want to work closer from home. Is this a valid reason for me to apply to a consulting job that is closer to home? I’m a recent college grad in the US and I’m the only child. My current firm’s office is ~2 hr from my (mom’s) home. I can’t live with and take care of her once the WFH is over. I saw that some of MBBs have offices pretty close to my home (~10 min). When applying to the positions, can I mention that I want to take care of my parent?

What are your success stories about succession planning? I was hired as a lateral to work on/help sustain a retiring partner's book of business. During my interview in 2017, he said his target retirement would be 2019-2021. Now, after a good 2020 (for our practice area), he mused that he might not retire until 2025. I don't want him to feel pushed out, and have a lot to learn from him, but I do want to help/plan handoff of work. Interested in guidance for how to have these conversations!
