Could Deloitte possibly just purchase one of the MBBs? Then it would be MBD. Or MDB. DBB. Seems like MBA grads and top talent are really preferring Deloitte these days

At OP

The MBBs most likely enjoy their ability to stay objective.

You trumpet deloitte's ability to implement a strategy as an advantage. I look at it as a disadvantage.

A seldom mentioned but impressive advantage of an MBB firm is that they cannot do the implementation (outside of a small few areas)...hence a client can view their advice as impartial instead of having to wonder if they are recommending something in order to generate business for their implementation groups.

Lets evaluate a hypothetical but very real situation...how often have you done a strategy assessment where you recommend less technology as the solution...especially when the client and the partner were already talking about how the follow on tech work?

Why do Deloitte folks keep pushing this train of thought???

You remember when PwC acquired Booz?? I mean I know they were MBB but a strategy house nonetheless. And it was this BIG push to say PwC can do it all strategy through execution. Power of One! Wait... that's a book. Category of One. That acquisition didn't go so well... for both internal and external reasons.

the operating model is different between MBB and Big 4. Global partnership vs almost a "franchise" model... same nameplate but independently owned and operated. Then there is the conflict when it comes to advising vs audit... became an issue with Booz portfolio when they fully integrated to PwC. It's messy and I don't see any MBB entertaining acquisition by Big D or any others.

This thread is disgusting. Shit like this brings down the brand for those of who are aren't douchey and deliver extremely high-quality work. I apologize for the level of "douche" of my colleagues, FB. We aren't all that bad...

A1, you steak sauce.

Cause MBAs think they are most likely to get strategy work there if they can't get MBB. You all are still Big4. Don't get it twisted.

Is one of you in DD and planning to go into VC after finishing your Sloane MBA?

Deloitte Digital. Inside joke. There was a thread earlier today from someone from Deloitte bemoaning the fact that the perception of Deloitte people on FB is so negative. He then proceeded to make an exceptionally douchey comment, essentially reinforcing the stereotype. I was referencing that thread because your post had a fair bit of unconscious hubris attached to it, which multiple people proceeded to bust your chops about. All in good fun...

Comment more on the reactions in this thread than the original idea: FB is a much better place if we don't try and measure ourselves against one another. It's just a pissing contest and we're all aiming in different directions. Very messy.

Not all of us are this uppity. Apologies on behalf of the firm, hopefully this will be a beacon of hope in a sea of Deloitte Douchebags (I work with them daily)

Cleaning up after Deloitte myself. The D team we are working with refuses to collaborate with us. We sit at the same fucking table in a shared space. 3 of us. 3 of them. The 3 of us replaced 3 D's that weren't cutting it. Two projects. Same program. We make an effort to integrate with D every chance we get (at the client's request), and they shit on us every. Fucking. Time. Salty pieces of shit that make my days miserable.

Why do they let HR and recruiters on FB? 😓

They're not "preferring" D per sat, bud. There are more people just not getting into the MBB.

D6, every client disses the previous consulting firm. There is a reason they made a change. Nothing to do with MBB. Deloitte likely has many more pissed off ex clients thanks to your scale.
