I’m at a major crossroad. I’ve on disability for treatment for a major bout of depression. As things were looking up and I was ready to head back to work everything in my life went to sh!t. Family health issues, disability not paying and causing financial hardship, and, strangest of all, I became physically ill when I drove up to the office to pick something up today. Just the sight of the building made me sick. I can’t afford to retire, I’m too old to ‘start over’. Is there any hope?

I finally got diagnosed with ADD, inattentive type, at 28 years old. I’ve known I had depression and anxiety for years, but the symptoms and treatment never added up. It took WFH in a pandemic to realize maybe I had ADD, and still months of being dismissed and made to feel like I was crazy before I found a doctor to administer the MMPI. I feel validated, finally, but I can’t help feeling grief too over so much lost potential and unnecessary failure, especially in law school and my career.

Any 🤰 fish with ADHD? Did you stay on your medication or did the doctor make you stop taking a prescription for it (i.e. Vyvanse and/or Adderall)? Really appreciate any shared experiences!

I have been in the role since Feb 2018, initially as a Supervisor, and in the beginning of 2021 got promoted to Assistant Manager. Hi, I got an offer letter from oracle as software engineer. Offered package was 17.91LPA including pf (17 fixed )

My YOE: 3.6.

CCTC: 10.5

Tech Stack: Java, Spring Boot, Microservices.

I already have an offer of 19LPA(16 fixed + pf + 2.4 variable + 2 JB).

What do you miss about your job that can’t be done WFH? I miss 1) client and meetings with opposing counsel to discuss high-stakes transactions where everyone’s dressed to the nines and do “serious business”; 2) expensive lunches; 3) happy hours and 4) wearing my suits. If you get a very uncompetitive offer from a company and you counter, and they decline every element of your counteroffer what does it say about the company in your opinion? Would you still take the opportunity?

I’m interviewing for jobs and I received an offer from company A, but I’d prefer company B. I told company B that I’d received an offer, and asked when they’d be making their decision/if we could speed up the process. I put company A off for as long as I could but I went ahead and accepted, just in case. Does it help me at all to go back to B and tell them I turned down A’s offer? Like, will it make me look super committed or does them thinking I have an active competing offer help me more?

Word of warning, check your employee handbook about unused PTO. Apparently in New York State, even with labor laws protecting unpaid PTO, if it’s written in any employee handbook or material that unused PTO is waived when you quit, that‘s all the employer has to do to get out of paying you.

How are we feeling about written assignments before being advanced to the next step during the interview process? I was given yet another written assignment to do. I declined completely and sent an example of one of my other assignments that I had done from a previous candidacy (in which they took my work and completely removed the job posting).
