I teach ESL and really like Go Formative. It has a ton of other functions, but most beneficial to me is that I can record my voice and select an audio response. I use it a lot for fluency practice and prepping the kids to record presentations on FlipGrid.

Remind is great too. Even the silent kids will text me with questions. One positive I’ve found in all this crazy is that I’m more equitable with my time. I now have the power to mute the squeaky wheel or not reply immediately, so I can respond to more students who I wouldn’t get to as often in a regular classroom setting.

Got covid from the UK , double vaxxed , and symptoms are wildly atrocious. Everyday I have different issues. I went from no fever to 102.4 in a couple of minutes. Blood oxygen dropped dangerously low and bounced back in a few minutes. Chills , cold sweats. My newest one is that my legs are so achey and sore it feels like they were beaten with a bat , just nonstop pain and can’t sleep. Anyone else experience these? Pretty sure I’d be hospitalized at a minimum without the vax

One year ago this weekend my mother was dying of Covid 2000 miles away from me. On Mother's Day we were told to make a decision to either consent to an invasive surgery that may do nothing or put her on hospice. She died on her own while my siblings and I tried to decide. I need to crawl into a cave this weekend until this holiday passes.

Leaving amazon for a better paying job that God blessed me with, at a great time. I don’t have the margin to tithe but know I need to. If you’ve been in this sitch, advice?

Want to improve my verbal and written communication skills. I hear reading more would help but I don’t read as much as I used to. So I’m wondering what books would help with that? Should I just read books that tickle my fancy like suspense and true crime novels? Help! Welcome to all book recommendations.

Accepted an offer of employment with a mid-sized firm to begin in a couple of months. I’ve always wanted to shoot for big law but haven’t had the opportunity thus far. Overall, I accepted because I didn’t want to take the opportunity for granted in addition to the uncertainty with hiring due to covid. Would it be an issue to shoot for a big law opportunity in the interim? I know how this looks and sounds, so I definitely don’t want to set a precedent that I deal in bad faith.

Hi all, I got laid off from my current company (product based) a month ago. Since then I've been looking for new opportunities. I got an offer from a good product based company with a good package and also my current company offering me rehire with promotion and a good package. I have a good rapport with my current manager, and he played a major role in offering this rehire opportunity. I'm confused about making the right decision here. Kindly share your views. Both offers are pretty much same.

Freaking out is an understatement. We had our first in May 2020 and never thought we’d still be going through this 2 years later. Anyone know anyone whose delivered or had a c section with Covid? Looking for some encouragement everything will work out okay. This is crazily the first time we’ve had it!

We got a move-in 6th grader today. At the end of today (busses gone) I found out that this move-in has an IEP from TX. The students is certified is EI. We have to re evaluate- this will be an expedited eval as we have 21 days left.

Honestly, is this year ever going to end? These evals are killing me! 😣

Good evening everyone,

I have to rant and seek advice. It’s my 5th year teaching overall. I’m a 1st year at a new district it’s been really nice except for just some very small inconveniences: no classroom budget, too many meetings during planning time, printers are so bad that I had to bring mine from home, my district gives teachers chromebooks for laptops. I’m a a point where if I was invited to come back next year I’d say tell them no, am I crazy, is it just me? Please help
