Hope her interview went well.

I am a non alcoholic and I have never been drunk from penne a la vodka. She definitely had an interview. I feel like everyone's interviewing. My manager has had like 5 dentist appointments.

like

You misheard her. She said "penne AND a vodka at lunch"

like

lol that's the funniest thing I heard today

I think food poisoning would have been more believable. Unless she's three years old.

That's not possible. Source: chemistry major in college. That's not how vodka sauce works at all

like

Maybe the carbs shocked her. I once got drunk from Jamaican rum cake and my friend still laughs about it

like

Impossible, the alcohol is cooked off while making that dish...only the flavor remains.

Drunk tho? Creative she is not

@D1 I didn't even think of that!

A3 nope. Alcohols typically have a lower boiling point due to less hydrogen bonding than water. Ethanol, the alcohol in vodka, has a boiling point of 173F, almost 40 degrees lower than water and well above the temperature that the food cooks at.

Like I said, not possible. Your coworker is full of shit #chemistrynerdandproud 🤓

Drunk is a bit much. I have had penne a la vodka where the chef hadn't fully cooked out the alcohol, but there was no where near enough to get someone drunk

Lightweight! Must not be a real Consultant.

Maybe she lied

Typically not possible. Alcohol has a higher boiling point. When. Cooking the sauce it is boiled. Unless they really added way too much or didn't cook the sauce (both unlikely) she had an interview.

Wow

Does anyone know of side jobs that don’t require a lot of efforts that I could pick up after work to make some extra income. My salary right now is just enough to pay rent, car loan, student loan, and other day to day expenses but it’s not enough for me to really save for my future. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
