CPA Question - for those who studied full-time for the CPA (40+ hours/week), how long did it take you to study for and pass each section? I am potentially taking some time off in the summer, and I’m curious how long I should take (up to 3 months).

If you truly studying full time: BEC study for 2.5 weeks, 3 or 4 days to do the exams and review and take it. Audit study for 3 weeks, 3 or 4 days to do exams and review and take it. FAR study for 4 to 5 weeks, allow 4 or 5 days to do exams and review and take it. REG - same as audit. People who take way too long to study, waste their time bc you forget what you studied in chapter 1. If you have the financial capacity and the time to study full time, this is best case scenario and the timing above should be enough to pass. This is how I did it. I also did pay attention to all videos and made sure I understood the concepts I did not feel comfortable with. I also moved 2 exams 1 week to allow more time to study. You will never feel 100% sure about knowing everything.. that's why it's so important to study and take it right away. Good luck!

Agree this is exactly what I did, except I built in the review days into the study time, so slightly less. FAR 4-5 weeks BEC 2.5 weeks AUD 3 weeks REG 2-3 weeks

Personally, during grad school: BEC: 9 days AUD: 12 days FAR: 14 days REG: 1 month (first one I took that I didn’t rush). Did AUD FAR and REG in one window, could’ve pushed BEC too but finals and projects got in the way. This was with pretty much knocking out 1 module per day (14+ hrs a day)

I studied for REG and FAR full time and it took me 2 months each for both... there’s not a magic number of how long to study. It completely depends on you and how fast you understand the concepts and feel ready

My wife studied and passed all 4 in about 5-6 weeks. She was in between jobs, and studied as if it were her job. Her lowest score was 89 and her highest score was 94. There’s definitely something to be said for condensing your studying if you can. I was working through mine, but I followed her advice and studied each section for about 2-3 weeks, and then took off Thursday-Monday periods with my exam on Monday. That way I didn’t stop studying/reviewing from Thursday-Monday, and the material was fresh in my brain. Passed with scores in the 80s. Try to incorporate this if possible, I highly recommend it.

Spent my second semester senior year studying CPA. It was practically full time CPA study as I only had my 4 credit honors thesis class that semester. Spent Jan-Feb studying for FAR (exam taken 3/4) and passed in one go. Did the same for AUD (March-April, exam taken on 5/7) and passed. Good luck!

I had multiple mediations recently. I do management side employment law. Overall I’m walking away feeling like what the heck are we paying the mediators for? I’m tired of the mediators saying they don’t want to hear about the merits of the case. The merits are DIRECTLY tied to the amount of settlement authority I have. I feel like our clients are getting worked way more than the plaintiffs side. Also plaintiffs have followed up every single settlement with “can we get the funds before holiday?”

How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience?
