Hello Everyone,

I have 4.3 YOE currently and I was offered Engr II - Full Stack position in VDSI. But after doing some research it seems Engr II is usually for YOE between 2 and 4. Is this correct? Will there be a problem for me if I take up this position with my YOE?
Since I am a lateral entry, I think promotion to Engr III also would take a lot of time.

Also can you please let me know the current designation hierarchy in VDSI?

I have a great relationship with my partner (work with him about 70%). I’ve always felt like he had my back. I wasn’t promoted this year which prompted me to start looking outside, there are other reasons too as I thought about path to partner, WLB, hot market. I now have an offer in the industry which is 100% wfh and in cybersecurity. Need help on how to approach the conversation with him? Where do I even start? I know there will be pushback/guilt and I’m dreading the discussion.

Looking to make the move from big corporate (20k employees) into startups.

Ask: has anyone swapped from a fairly senior engineering role into a startup? What did you sacrifice from corporate world, what do you gain and what concessions did you have to make (e.g. WLB/pay)?

Context: 8 YOE Engineering, full stack, mix of technologies, mostly JS/TS. I've built a lot of different things and managed teams, bored by the pace of corporate and feel stagnated in my career.

Feel as if I’m constantly behind peers in terms of career progression (e.g. MBB/ FAANG) despite having a decent-ish background (tier 2 consulting and now at top tier finance company in strategy role). I find that the companies I’ve worked at have very set progression based on tenure, with no room for negotiation. I’m really ambitious/ hardworking and I am not sure where to go that would match my goals of career progression. Is it just MBB/ FAANG or is there anywhere else? Any ideas?

After 5 years as an AE / Sales Manager, what are the next possible career paths?

I love sales and wish I could stay as an individual contributor, but I feel like I am not getting anywhere with the salary i want, and the job itself I feel isn't using all of my potential/skillets (plus I'd like to learn and put into practice more).

So I'm really keen to hear from others what steps they took in their career to get into roles they love doing now but still within the sales side of an organisation.

I am getting higher package offers like Nagarro permanent wfh. But i am hearing that Tcs will be good for WLB and less work stress. Is this true? Because i am little bit stresseful that permanent wfh options may be very hectic. Kindly guide me in this regards.

Notice Period question please. After being in the same company for 8yrs & experiencing burnout in the last 2 years, I’d like to make sure I take a month’s break before jumping into my next role. Esp as I havent taken more than 2 days off at a time this year (max. 3 times/Long weekends).

What’s the best way to go about it? Should I give my exact notice period & negotiate start date, or share my notice period with a “buffer”?

I’m updating my resume to be targeted to admin assistant for another company. I have experience that is directly related to the job however, I have more experience that isn’t obviously related but has transferable skills (multitasking, organized, initiative, etc).
Is it worth keeping the experience that’s not immediately related in my resume? Do hiring managers look for transferable skills?
I also have a diploma in a completely unrelated topic, but again - has recognized transferable skills.
