When you pay back a sign on bonus, that you had to claim as income and pay taxes on, can you write that off on next years taxes? Seems like you lose more money than you made since you have to pay back everything including the remitted taxes but at that point it’s more of a loan

Higher offers at 27-28 with more fixed pay is from contract and hire/fire type companies. Mostly indirect hiring instead of direct employment with the final employer, means higher pay with lower jon security - we get little more pay, companies get the option to let go with ease later!
