Curious about career trajectories & time spent at each level. I have 11 years of agency/consulting experience at WPP, IPG, & Publicis agencies and other known independents. Leading anchor clients and responsible for both strategy delivery and organic growth. I moved up quickly and 6 yrs in became a Director, I've been at the Dir level for 5 years now & currently at a pretty flat org. I feel like I'm doing the work of other VPs at the org & getting paid same $. Is it time to ask for a new title?

Yes. Or to move.

I've been stuck at director almost 3 years now, it's driving me crazy!!!

One more thing to note: I've been at my current company coming up on 2 years at the new promotion cycle. The last cycle two directors were promoted to VP had been at the company for 5 and 7 years (the latter with a total of 9 years in the industry). The team is already very top heavy (1 CSO, 4 VPs on a team of 12) and there is one other Director that has a similar background to mine that I think they would need to promote us both for parity. Other directors are in the 5-7 year range.

And will this start counting against me in future roles? Seeing stagnation in title only (I have a good story to tell on growth of responsibilities, leading big projects with notoriety, and developing research IP for the agency )

After you’ve connected with a consultant on LinkedIn what’s the best practice for asking someone to give you a practice case? To balance respect someone’s time vs coming off as transactional. Should you first ask for coffee chat, then later a case or can you ask for a case in your first “chat”? I am prepping for MBB interviews but I know consultants work crazy hours so I don’t want to take up more time than necessary - what would you prefer? What is the best practice?

My district has told me that I am not allowed to use any live video chats (Zoom, Google Hangouts, etc) with students so no one sues the district. Anyone running into the same problem?

I started with my bar prep company in March and have been working remotely since. I don’t feel like I was ever properly trained (can’t tell if that’s because of poor management or WFH or both) but I have a hard time with the contract management system and have made several mistakes. Of course, I wasn’t trained in the CMS and am only taught how to do something correctly after I’ve don’t it incorrectly. Any advice on keeping things in perspective? I feel like I’m underperforming but only with tech
