20- was a Junior in college... worked odd jobs, babysitting during the school year ($15/hour), summers waiting tables and shifts as a hostess, movie extra. Made well under 10k and could barely pay rent and bills.
First job out of college was at 21 right before turning 22- I made $26K as a project manager in the South. That's $500 a week.
23- moved to a bigger city, got a Consulting job making $65K as an Analyst
25- About 80K as a Consultant, made Manager at 27 and broke 100K
30- Senior Manager, about 170K
Not 35 yet but just broke 300K
Amazing growth! Great job
20-undergrad university job $7/hr (in the south), although some scholarship money helped
23-working part time as a lab tech for about $20/hr with an undergrad degree in bio (in the south)
23-26- went to grad school engineering for PhD (still in the south but now more north, gave me healthcare, a stipend, and paid for tuition)- $28,000, didn't finish left with master's
26- started 1st real job in consulting in DMV area for $67,000 (was offered $64,00)
27 (current)-same job now with a little bump ~1.8% increase to ~$68,200
Now might be part of this great reshuffle.
Update- I did get a new job. I’ll be consulting in the climate change and sustainability space (big 4) and I will now make $130k base at 27. Right before I left my other job they gave me a market adjustment of $75k. I’ll still be in the DMV area.

All you need to do is see the claims of people making $45 - 60k at age 20 to know this is not a good sample.
Most of us were broke and looking for house liquor at the bar / $2 drinks in college at that age
Keep in mind for some people if the have a masters, their first job was likely 24-26 not 20 and it depends on which city. I started at $65k myself. I can tell you that people starting now as analysts in my area (AI) start a a minimum of $80k for a bachelors so say 22 years old.
20 - 60k,
25 - 130k,
30 - 170k,
35 - 220k,
37 - 350-400k
Biggest increases were due to job changes.

30 - $120k
35 - $160k
38 - $230k
40 - $350+

Not this again.
Yea it makes me kind of sick. At the same time I get that it helps to give knowledge so all of us laborers can better negotiate with capital.
I am routinely disappointed by this myopia on what constitutes human excellence. Too bad many of us live in a state where you need big money to not live in precarious economic circumstances.

Thank you for being more real
I just started, but what I learned is that loyalty to a company is the best way not to get a salary bump. Disloyalty is the only thing that gets you significant pay bumps
Depends on your situation - started off with my current employer at 110k base plus bonus, currently at 255k base plus bonus and a full scholarship to an M7 MBA (7 years total)
21: $6000 (First Tech job in India)

My numbers seem to match yours. I am 29 right now with 136600 base and in tech consulting ..hopefully I make what you are making when I am 35

Lol really appreciate your response. Not sure how others were able to make a salary during undergrad and/or mba & act like that’s an easy/common thing to do.
Do you feel like your decision to go back to school paid off? Your salary is very impressive!! And i could justify going back to school if i had a similar payback period lol
Am I the only one wishing this was done in a spreadsheet
Finally a useful comment here
