Reminiscing… I used to love the holidays because it was such a festive, flirty season living in NYC with all out office parties and then vacation time when I’d fly to Europe or wherever. Bu now it’s become so stressful as a working mom making sure all the presents are bought (kids, “Santa”, teachers), that Elf does something cute every night, researching fun holiday events for the kids, kids getting sick every other day, work deadlines all in the middle of it…I need some holiday magic for me 😭

How much PTO do you typically take in a year? I've only been taking about 1.5-2 weeks and I'm starting to feel burnt out, but it doesn't seem like anyone on my team takes more!

Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Recruiter and mgr had great things to say around growth and opportunity, which doesn’t align with feedback from the bowls or Glassdoor.

Do they verify military duty dates, or can I just enter military PTO when needed. Sometimes dates change or I want to add a day prior for travel or something. Do they need to see published orders dates for military PTO?

I’m currently at a boutique agency where it’s just me and my boss doing RM for about 200+ people. I have been there for almost a year and have implemented some new processes that are starting to help streamline the process. I currently make $85K. Is this an appropriate salary for my level? I am being approached for RM roles at consulting firms and other agencies. I like the idea of building something here but would also like better benefits (more vacation, better mat leave).

How do your firms do payroll? This is like the 5th time in 26 months that paychecks weren’t timely deposited. Allegedly, the boss did everything right and this is something in the payroll company. But his stuff is getting crazy and everyone is out on PTO, I’m kinda like: meet minimum ethical obligations and no more. Once or twice, I understand. But this is becoming regular.

How much should I charge a friend to watch 4 dogs at their home over Christmas weekend (2 nights)? The dogs don't have any special needs or medications. I've dog sat for other people in the past but always for free. I also have had dogs of my own for most of my life. I want to start charging people for my services but also want to be reasonable since this is a friend and don't plan to charge a holiday fee. We live in St. Louis. Would $40 per day/night be reasonable?

And i have heard wlb is bad at Deloitte but what about Synechron? And synechron hr told to send the deloitte offer. And they told they will try to increase the package. What do other partners take as unreimbursed partnership expenses? I have heard some say they do nothing (because it isn’t addressed in the partnership agreement) but others say they take quite a bit (if there is an expense policy manual that disallows it). I had three offers initially. Company A,B,C. C was paying the highest.

Company A revised my offer to C's offer, now Company B is also willing to revise their offer and give a little better offer than C and A.

I had already accepted revised offer from Company A once..
Would it be an issue if I don't join A now and join B instead.. I have 2 weeks of notice period left. If I join B now.. how do I convey it to A ?

PwC to A&M. Upgrade or downgrade?

Looking for advice/recommendations. Does anyone have experience dealing with a PR firm or a reputation management firm that can help push down negative news about oneself on an internet search? Are some firms better than others? I have heard cheaper firms may actually make one’s situation worst given how the Google search algorithm works.

Anyone else here have any experience with Alix Partners recruiters that reached out, had long conversations, laid out a plan for the recruiting process, and then just ghosted you? I thought that at these levels, ghosting by recruiters was rare.
