Been working freelance for the past year and I've made more money and connections than I did while at my previous agency. This is a life tip for young creatives: you value your own work, don't let anyone else do so.

Word of advice to analysts: gestures, such as bringing in coffee, etc. is nice but it doesn't make up for sloppy work. Focus on the project and work hard - then you'll earn my respect.

I have 1.5 YoE, joined as campus hire. Unfortunately didn't get chance to pick preferred org/tech stack. Had to work in Cloud Ops for 1 year, and now in legacy app with very old stack of Java, Perl and internal old Javascript.
Should I start afresh in a new company for SDE-1, or wait and apply for SDE-2 opportunities?
Should I look for alternate profiles like Analyst?
Would shifting to a service based company be wise?
Do companies care about previous tech stack?

Which offer is better from learning, growth and career perspective?

A) PWC as a Manager 24L fixed + variable , gratuity over and above CTC

B) Capgemini as a Manager 30 L(10 percent Variable, gratuity and PF also as part of CTC....so effective 25.5L only Fixed)

Anyone else feel as though their firm is not being honest about the firm’s economic stability and what may soon come (i.e. additional layoffs or paycuts)? Currently my firm is taking austerity measures that seem disproportionate to its messaging about the firm’s financial status.

I feel like I'll have a harder time finding a compatible black man to be with because I'm agnostic/non-religious and I genuinely can't remember the last time I met a non-Christian BM. Religion isn't a dealbreaker for me, but I don't want to be pressured into converting and don't my kids to be raised Christian. I've dated WM before but I miss the culture connection.

People are telling me to join big organization because of the upcoming recession.
