Curious if this happens to anyone else - I workout regularly (mix of cardio and strength training) and eat healthy 90% of times. I make sure to eat veggies and protein in almost every meal, alongside some carbs. In general, I’m a big foodie and do love food. But I am CONSTANTLY hungry. No matter how satiated I feel after a meal, I’m hungry again in an hour. Not sure if this is psychological more than physical, but I’m trying to lose weight and this is making it so tough!

Might not be eating enough protein for your activity levels

Agreed with the others. I have been working with a nutritionist and a lot of my "hunger" is head hunger or thirst. I was told to really be present in that moment and try to determine if your stomach is truly hungry or if it's another trigger like boredom, anxiety, a habit you've created around eating at that specific time, the need to be doing something with your hands and mouth, or if you are thirsty. Drinking more water can help as can chewing sugar free gum. Protein is great for making you feel full so be sure to incorporate it in every meal and snack. I like to do good quality beef sticks and cheese, apples and natural peanut butter, boiled eggs, or a protein shake.

Hope this helps and good luck!

This is me - the one advice I’ve gotten is drink water / lemon water / buttermilk - anything! Lots of lots of drink..maybe even 30 minutes before you eat.. it makes you feel full because sometimes our brain interprets thirst as hunger (atleast mine did)..to level up, I started adding some chia seeds to my buttermilk so add even more “full ness”

helpful

Ok that makes more sense because regular buttermilk is not meant to be drank (it’s for cooking/baking) and is super high in calories lol

I’m the exact same way. No amount of water works. Then only thing that occasionally works is coffee, but even then it’s temporary. I’ve just accepted that I will always be hungry and have shifted to smaller meals so I can graze throughout the day.

like

I also suffer from anxiety and coffee aggravates my anxiety. I think I need to just accept it now too haha

Same. I started intermittent fasting solely to out guardrails on my grazing times.

like

I tried this, and started getting headaches and just lost focus through the day, it sucks especially while working

I eat smaller meals and then allow myself to have more snacks. I usually eat breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. That way I’m not going too many hours in between each.

I’m not sure what you’re workout regime looks like in detail- but if working out a lot, you actually might not be eating enough to refuel. In addition- exercise stresses the body and increases cortisol which can leave you hungry.
If you’re doing long cardio bursts or really intense exercise every day- you could try lowering the intensity to see if that helps.

like

one other thing- you could try adding more fiber to your diet to help keep you feeling full after eating

I am having a missed miscarriage. Last night I felt something slide out of me which looks like a blood clot and/or tissue with something clear and round like (I think the embryo at 6 weeks). Any tips for staying injury free in middle age? My body seems to be falling apart. Before Covid, I injured my shoulder in a bad fall while skiing that would have kept me off the slopes for a year if the pandemic hadn’t. Last week, I pulled my lower back, also skiing. This is all after a 6 month recovery from Achilles tendinitis that the PT said was a result of running and hiking. I’m pretty active and in decent shape, but clearly I’m doing something very wrong.
