Which Big 4 has the least layoffs right now on the West Coast? If so, why? More clients, hired just enough, realistic goals, etc...?
Little overwhelmed at the moment and want to use passive investment. What is the closest thing to robo advisors like Wealthfront and Betterment, that we are allowed to use with the Independence related restrictions in B4? TIA
Do all big 4 and larger mid size firms have PIP? How long do they usually last, and does anyone get fired for purely performance reasons without being put on a formal PIP?
What’s with people going from Big 4 or other accounting firms to recruiters? Several of the last recruiters I connected with came from accounting firms. 🧐
How does one get into advisory without already being in big 4 or having a narrow industry focus? All of the postings I see are for very specific IT related positions.
Anyone switched from B4 audit to advisory (ex. management consulting, deal advisory)? How did you start networking / get the opportunity? Any advice?
How big / mature are IT Strategy practices at MBB? How does it differ from IT Strategy at big 4?
Can someone give me feedback on my profile? GRE: 333 GPA: 3.3, Top 15 US undergrad in STEM CFA - Joined a YC tech-startup as an early employee and saw us through seed funding; working with the CEO - Big 4 M&A Top 5% performer (left after 3 years) Targeting M7 schools. Thanks!
I accepted an offer at Deloitte and start in three weeks. I am also in processes at another Big 4 and MBB. If I get substantial better offers from them, would it be crazy to leave D after a couple months? Start dates for other potential offers are Jan 3.
If you leave a local firm and go to big 4, there's an obvious learning curve, no? How have you all seen that addressed if coming in at the SA level from a smaller firm ?
Are the big 4 the only consulting companies that requires work papers after each engagement? Seems like an audit thing.
Currently working for big 4 firm and have a desire to transfer to MBB due to learning/pay/camaraderie. Due to competitiveness, can I hear from people at boutique who like the culture and experiences?
So I’m about to start a job with a new company soon, but a recruiter from one of the Big 4 just reached out to me about an opening. Should I proceed with interviewing, etc even though I haven’t cont..
New consultant here - when people talk about Strategy & Operations, what exactly is the operations side and what do they do? Coming from the perspective of the B4 firms having the more prestigious S&O group, but also having a separate supply chain/operations group? What’s the difference between the two ops groups?
Pros and cons of big 4 TAS vs working for firms like D&P, A&M, and FTI? Also any others I happen to be missing
What fun things you would do if you are on bench and know that you're starting engagement next week?
I have an upcoming phone screen for technical project manager role with Amazon. What are the type of questions can I expect? I hear even round 1 is getting tougher due to large applicant pool.
What’s the best travel website to find cheap deals on a moments notice? May be on the beach starting next Friday and need to get away. Looking for cheap travel deal out of Atl, don’t care where.
Did I screw myself by being the first person to bring up salary figures with a startup? I tried to hold firm and make sure they said ballpark range first before I said if those align with my expectations, but she gave a vague “it depends on market, but I can give you a broad range from $45k-$90k for the role.” So I responded with $70k-$80k. Should I have asked for the highest range then of $80k-$90k? Worst case scenario, I don’t want it being revoked.
How important is getting a Six Sigma Green/Black belt? Does it make a difference in comp/offers/projects/promotion?
Counter offer in hand, need thoughts. After first "negotiation", they offered that they could at best match my base. Current situation: 195 base, no bonus Counteroffer: 170 base + 20k sign on + 20% performance bonus This feels like I'm getting the short end of the stick, right?
getting rolled off a bad project early because of a bad fixed budget celebrate with me please 🥂 🍾 🎉
I realized I only enjoy chasing higher comp. Job switches every 2 years, always looking out for the next bump… it has taken a toll on my mental health. Tried to get hobbies to distract but I find myself back at websites checking comp numbers. Any suggestions to get out of the race?
Was offered 90k for an associate role at A&M in the transaction advisory group. What would total comp look like?
I have one year of big 4 experience. When I was applying for a company they are asking me for my SAT score. Do you think this is a red flag?
Boarded 30 late due to FAs mixing up time zone...taxi out, sit for hour , pilot announces return to gate for comp issues and mtce crew is waiting for us. 30 mins at gate - still waiting on mtce. 😡
Company A came back with an offer $5K higher than Company B after I negotiated. Could I talk to Company B and see if they would match that too? Is that ok to do - this is my first time negotiating for a role after college!
3.7 GPA top 20 undergrad 2+ Transaction advisory service Aiming for 750 GMAT Asian How should I build my profile for the next two years for MBA? And what’s the chance for me to get into top 7?
Zoom interview for a job I don’t have any real experience for. They have my resume. Do I cut right to it that I’m not specifically qualified but eager and able to learn? Or skip over it assuming they’ve seen my background and are still interested enough to interview, fake it til you make it style?
i swear all my work is to just fudge the deliverable to give the client or my boss the end result they want. our work is built on a piling hot bed of BS
Hi all, Can anyone refer me in life sciences consulting? B.Pharm grad + MBA (new IIM) with 2.5 years of pre MBA work ex in pharma R&D (Drug safety/pharmacovigilance). Working as an SAP consultant in Deloitte (US offices in India) since Aug-2020.
I’m trying to hop between big 4 consulting roles. Presently, I’m a life science PhD and MBA hire to EY with 3+ YOE as a Senior consultant/associate. Do I have any shot at manager roles assuming I focus on life science roles? I’m concerned my lack of manager title kills any chance I have of joining another firm as a manager.
Joining Strategy&/PwC soon but have a pre planned vacation. Recruiter had mentioned that it shouldn't be a problem and we can talk as we get closer to joining date to finalize. Has anyone been in the situation before and what do you recommend I do? I'm worried that once onboarded, I won't get my vacation approved
How much do you guys keep in cash/checking? I have 60k in 401k/ira/investments and 45k accessible in checking. What’s your portfolio looking like?
