Never drink alone, never more than 2 drinks in an hour, and most importantly, only drink if it’s really “worth it” - a subjective judgement usually based on if I’m celebrating something and / or if it’s a place known for really good drinks (speakeasy, fancy restaurant, etc.). I rarely drink just to “drink” or keep up anymore. I remind myself how I tend to feel depressed the next day and assess whether the potential “fun” I could have drinking outweighs that emotional hangover. It’s usually always a “no” if I’m just drinking to calm anxiety vs. it being something that really adds to the moment.

I like this. I feel like I’ve started to have a drink every night for absolutely no reason just “because.”
I’ll start using your “is it worth it” logic and the answer most of the time will be no which is a good thing haha.

One-max two drinks per day during the week. 3-4 drinks per day on the weekends. I drink by myself during the week at night and thoroughly enjoy it, now and back when I was single
Rising Star
This is me currently but I’m starting to reflect on whether 14 drinks a week is a bit much.

None whatsoever. I’m a lush

Same. Trying to change my ways 😂
I stopped drinking. Felt so much better after. Alcohol is trash IMO
It also doesn’t have to be an “either or” rigid lifestyle - you can drink once in a while if you want while not drinking other times

Recently I realized that I only drink socially, which happens on the weekends. I also HATE hangovers so I drink in accordance with my limits. Never been the type to have wine with my home cooked dinner, which is weird because I really like wine.
Every now and again I will pour myself a small cocktail if I’ve had a stressful week.
I don’t drink at home. I save it for going out or entertaining.

This is probably a good rule. I’ve fallen into the habit of a night cap most nights which is completely unnecessary.
I quit drinking entirely about four years ago (in my late 20s) because I just couldn’t drink moderately, in spite of many different experiments with boundaries trying to attain that state.

Thanks for sharing! I’m going to try some boundaries but I have notice that once I break a habit it’s best to leave it broken and not try moderation. We shall see!!

I let the spirits move me lol depends on the day and what company Im with. But i generally only drink socially, not at home.
Currently reading Quit Like A Woman. It came recommended by quite a few friends.

I try to limit drinks to Friday and Saturdays primarily (ends up being ~3 drinks each day when going for dinner/cocktails) and potentially a drink mid week if going out for a meal
I only drink socially. Usually max 2 drinks unless I’m going out to bars, which is very rare. I don’t even drink socially very often.

I’ve tried a few different things after having what I felt was a bit of an alcohol problem in my early/mid twenties.
Mostly, I try not to drink during the week unless it is a special occasion. This actually worked better when I was traveling. Now that I am not, my husband likes to have a drink on weeknights and more often it’s like “oh we are having a little fun time” and so I’ve had to figure that out, but normally on weeknights only one and before 7pm so it doesn’t impact my sleep.
I overall try to remain below 7 total for any given week, and never more than 4 in one setting. Sometimes I go up to 10 in a week if it’s vacation or something like this.

Probably drink too much but I do enjoy craft beer. Have recently found a NA craft beer brand I like and I’ll more often pick that on midweek nights now. I used to only drink socially (and on airplanes #flyday) but with the pandemic, I live alone, and I don’t plan to drink never
I love athletic brewing beers!
