Curious what everyone’s caseloads look like in their district if you are a resource room teacher. Do you have 504’s and IEP’s on your caseload?

Public school district teaching resource remotely from home for a charter school. I have 10 resource students with another six pending initials. My class size on Google meet is 2 students at a time. That will change to 3 if initials qualify. I also stand in admin when needed for SLP IEPs. We have to submit uploaded copies to SEIS, copies of reports and signed documents. We use DocuSign if parents can figure out how to use this technology. I also take on RTI students for intervention. My para educator teaches two students for each of her three groups. She also files docs in brown case files and sends copies to parents. Because these students had very little access to technology being at a Waldorf school, it was difficult and took time for students to learn how to present in google meet. It took about 4 weeks before they felt confident logging in and presenting.

I'm in a small Texas city, we have middle and high school students. I am your do it all SPED teacher. I have SPED, life skills, RTI, 504, and Dyslexia. Our counselor does the paperwork for the ESL, RTI, ESL, 504 & dyslexia and I provide the help to the students. In do all the other paperwork and lesson plans. We have some resource students, life skills students and inclusion. All together that is 77 students. She does papers on 40 and I have a co-teacher we do the paperwork on the other 37 students. I'm also the STUCCO teacher :/

I only handle sped students. Our counselors manage 504s. I teach 2 subjects for resource and inclusion, 7 sections total, and manage a caseload of 20 kids.

Just IEP’s. 504’s are done by the administration since they are not a part of special education.

My caseload is a lot smaller this year. I have 10 students. 4 students are being homeschooled due to COVID.

Do any of you have help? Are you on your own? Do you provide service in the classroom or do you provide services in a resource room?

I have 9 on my caseload. I teach resource and Inclusion Math and we are FTF.

1st grade resource room teacher here in NJ. 7 on my caseload this year for both resource/ICR. As a SPED teacher, our job is to only write PLAAFPs, goals, mods, accommodations/update and monitor student progress for IEPs. General education teachers are responsible for implementing and executing whatever is contained in a student’s 504 Plan. Hope this gives you more insight! 🙂

General Ed teachers manage their student's 504 plans. I only carry IEP caseload

I’m high school so resource is different, but we do not have 504’s on our case loads. They are not our job. I have anywhere from 15-20 kids on my caseload.

We have a caseload max 24 per teacher for our resource specialists.

26 on my caseload. Combo of Intensive Needs (I teach-10 students), resource -9 students, home school -7 students. 504s are done by school counselors and school psychologist.

A WM was just named DEI lead for our department. He keeps talking and writing messages in ways which prioritize the aggressor’s feelings, the aggressor’s safety, and “positive intent.” He also talks and writes about “How to not jump from kindergarten to college in one conversation when it involves DEI.” He never talks or writes about inclusion or making things safe for BIPOC. I just needed to type this . Thank you for reading.

I’m a SPED Resource/Inclusion Teacher which I really love. I really like working with the Gen Ed teachers maybe because my background is Gen Ed. I’m noticing many SPED team members go straight to the principal if they have an issue with a Gen Ed teacher instead of going to the teacher directly. Is this the norm now? What happened to SPED working with Gen Ed? Maybe I’m old school, but this seems so wrong to me. Thoughts?

Do you show your human side at work? Also share your gender if you’re comfortable. I’m F and I generally do, but wondering if this is not perceived well. For example, sometimes I talk to my peers about my weekend plans, sometimes about how tired I am because of work, I recently had surgery and shared with them details about it.

I know this topic does not get talked about much but will eventually impact almost all of us so here goes. I am thinking of retiring (early) and would love recommendations for countries that I can retire to that. Primary factors would be cost if living, safety, warm climate, good health care system, (preferably) close to the US - not a requirement, stable government and laws, diversity in landscape (beach, rivers, mountains). Definitely not super rich so thinking of 5k a month in expenses.

What are your thoughts on this diversity visa debate? I always thought it to be an unfair program, strongly anchored on the lottery of birth. Selfishly, I hope it ends and instead the visa numbers are used for retrogressed countries stuck in the EB saga. At least the employment based route is a hard won merit based path.

Below is my understanding at Deloitte, but others please correct me if you know of anything different for Commercial Consulting. I know titles will also be different across forms but should be able to match them up. Level 1: Analyst - $80-90k Level 2: Consultant: $90-110k Level 3: Senior Consultant (post MBA): $140-165k Level 4: Manager : $150-180k
