15 YOE and credible consulting experience should land you a manager role

like

I would say manager or principal level depending on how relevant your experience is

like

@BCG 1 - nevermind, just looked at your site, nothing in CLT 🤔

Join as manager most likely. If VP in your org is equivalent to tech VP then I’d say you can swing AP or Partner

like

VP is manager level, not sure how that relates to tech VP.

Is travel pretty much Sun - Thurs?

Will likely come in as an EM or expert AP (if very relevant experience) at McKinsey

I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's ALM in Management. They both have the same requirements (generally speaking) including a capstone course that serves as a field immersion course with the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?

Hi all,
I’m currently a junior doctor in an intensive care in London. I’m hoping to make a career switch over to consulting. I’ve done research, but struggling to find an initial landing spot in consulting. Does anyone have advice about making the switch from medicine? Where should I start/aim for? For reference I graduated 3 years ago and am currently studying an MSc in Global Health Policy at LSHTM. Thanks!

I'm at a career juncture and have decided on a career in anti-money laundering as my new path. I'm also highly interested in additional education to further my career and am eyeing graduate school. Which is best? A law degree or a master's in international relations? Those are where my interests lie. I keep reading that JDs are valued in compliance but am wondering if a different graduate program is better for my goals. I already plan to obtain the CAMS certification. Thank you!

Hey everyone! I am a CPA, started at PwC, now the assistant controller at a small/medium sized Ag company. Thus far, the plan has been to follow the CFO path. But recently I have been longing for more social/client facing interactions. I am very extroverted. I love meeting and connecting with new people and would like to incorporate that into my career. Any thoughts on possible career paths that would combine my experience in accounting with a more socially fulfilling job?

Thanks I’m advance!

Hello, I’m a UX/UI designer with 6 years of experience based in Italy and willing to move to London. I’ve been sending CV on LinkedIn for months but clearly I’m doing something wrong. I’ve been doing interviews with big companies around Europe but never from UK, don’t know if it’s because of the Visa or something else. I’m attending a UX course in a London-based school to have a more valuable certification for the UK market. Anyone in the field that could share any tips? Thank you very much

I have applied for a Generalist Associate role at McKinsey, and the recruiter came back to me offering instead to interview for an "Associate, Marketing & Sales" position. I don't exactly understand what that entails. Could anyone give me information on the difference Generalist vs. Marketing & Sales? Will I still be performing strategy work?
FYI: 2,5yoe in management consulting applying to European office

Thoughts on Masters in Environmental Management programs? UCSB, Yale, etc.

I have a non-technical degree (Bachelor of Arts) and have been in management consulting at a Big 4 the last 5 years. I want to pivot my career to do something more meaningful - make a positive impact in the world, rather than continuing to help rich corporations get richer.

Thinking that doing a Masters will help arm myself with environmental / sustainability knowledge and a network.

So here is my dilemma:
- based in the UK
- opportunity for lateral internal move (culture&engagement) or stay where I am (reward). I am mid level IC struggling to progress due to flat structure so considering lateral move then hopefully up from there.
- 2 primary aged children, currently have flexibility in current/new role too
- Husband just got accepted on a international rotation which means I will be single parent for the short term.

What to do? Go with the unknown or coast comfortably?

Hey! I've always wanted to get into IB (prestige, money, you name it), however now that I'm in a more laid back environment (better WLB, "easier work") it doesn't seem as attractive as before and the pay is quite good for an analyst level (I think the pay is competitive even comparing with IB's pay in my country) . I wanted to know if anyone had the same experience and what were your thoughts (pursue an MBA and leave your comfort zone and "good pay" or just stick with it). TIA!
