Curious what timeline I should expect for finding a new position in this covid environment / recession. How long did it take to find a new job this year or how long have you been actively applying? I’m a CPA with big 4 senior tax experience, but trying to change paths to something like finance analyst or business manager (which I know can be pretty broad). Just trying to manage my own expectations for when I’ll be able to say good riddance to public accountings unreasonable expectations

Based in the Bay Area and have 3.5 yr exp in IT Audit mostly SOX with a little SOC exp (ex big 4, couple of regionals) and have been applying to industry (mostly tech companies) since May. made it to final interviews only to find out hiring freezes were in effect or they went with a LCOL candidate.Would like to exit to a GRC role or a mixed role thats 50% sox, 50% varied projects, or a SOX role if the team culture is good. No luck getting in non sox work at current firm.

I’m not from an English speaking country but I am watching a tv show and businessmen walk into a room and instead of greeting eachother, everyone says each person’s first name in lieu of hi, however in my experience working in the states, I haven’t seen anyone do this, it’s always hi or good afternoon or some other greeting first THEN they say their first name. is it also appropriate to omit the greeting?
