Run from AWS. Don’t even look back. Have several friends join from Microsoft and now regretting after 3 months.
Depends on the specific team you land in. Some are complete shit shows and some are amazing

You won’t go in as a 7 with another year.
The comp is likely much better than PWC with better upside.
It depends where you want to be in 6 years and if you want to boomerang back to consulting.

If you’re S& side you’d def make more staying

Ehh A1, I’m not sure it’s that much better. Upside at PwC is partnership track, which will generally pay a lot more than most amazon positions. Wlb different story

Depends on expectation of comp at L6, L7, and L8 at Amazon versus Senior Manager, Director, and PPED.
Coming from EY/Parthenon, I would likely take a hit first year as a partner given equity/buy in. Then the first 5 years in that model weren’t that lucrative as a new partner. Beyond 5 from my visibility, the comp jumped quite a bit.
As an L7 PM at Amazon, my salary is lower but with shares and salary, in what would be my first two years at partner, at Amazon I am likely making 390-420k (assessing stock fluctuations). I prefer this versus the buy, comp model, and comp level. Then the partnership model comes with a lot of risk and commitment.
L7 has levels and L8 comes with a pretty big jump up that gets you into comparable money and L10 at Amazon if you get there is highly lucrative.
This is so wrong. Don’t listen to these negative people who says run. It’s a great offer and you should definitely take it. How would you know what out there on the other side of the fence without taking this opportunity. In AWS, you can always change your team/projects if you want. Take it, work for 2-3 years, take the bonus and RSUs and then decide what you want to do next- whether stay in Amazon and move to L7, move to another Big tech firm, or move back to consulting.
Struggling with the decision to take it and move to seattle, or hold onto consulting for another ~1 year to make Senior Mgr. and look for exits then (strong chance of promote in next 6 to 12 months max). Reputation of Amazon / AWS makes it seem like wlb will be only marginally better - thoughts on the offer and what you would consider?
They just mentioned S&...
Top bucket can make ~300
Which S& vertical?
Take it and boomerang back if you don’t like it in a year
I’d stay at PwC. Higher ceiling with faster growth. I hear working at AWS can be very hit or miss.
does program manager at AWS do similar work like a manager in consulting?
