I got a offer from Accenture Technology, not a big raise in Pay but I would really love to take the opportunity. But I’m scared about upcoming recession, how did they handled this the last times? I don’t want to throw a safe job away if the risk is to high…the offer is to start in 11/2022. Would you do it? Or would you stay in the safe positions and wait?Accenture

I switched projects while ~16 weeks pregnant. Timing was ideal because I was past the first terrible wave of nausea/fatigue (6-13 weeks for me) and had about 2 months of second trimester glow to do good work before I started heading downhill physically again. I went up for Manager as an SC 2 and was promoted while out on mat leave, so it worked beautifully. That said, the whole thing was a very risky trade. I blew a bridge with my former project and I was lucky to have (a) landed such a great fit second gig and (b) felt energetic enough to perform as well as I did on a high visibility project.
This is helpful thanks! How did you find it coming back from maternity leave at a new level?
New manager + new mom was (and is) the most horrendously difficult thing I have ever done. Even with a >30% raise, on bad days I still want my old job back. Of course, if I hadn’t gotten promoted, I would also be annoyed. 😂
