My partner isn’t an attorney but is a federal agent and we pay about $180 biweekly on a family plan with NALC (one of the options in the chart) in their high option plan. It’s been wonderful. Definitely one of the biggest perks.

Yes about $400 a month

Anyone here applied for a Schengen visa at Italian Consulate? Did you submit proof of your current US medical insurance or did you buy and submit a travel insurance for your trip to Italy ?

Joined D in August. For insurance I opted for a few addons amounting to 26K to be paid from my end. In my previous Organization, they would deduct these addon amounts in 4/8/12 equal instalments. In D they deducted the whole part in this months salary. Does D not have the option to deduct in instalments? The in hand salary was low and I can barely cover my fixed financial commitments and basic needs.

Might be dumb but how do you make sure you don’t overcontribute to Roth or 401k for 2021? Will my contributions automatically go towards 2022 when the limits have been hit or do I have to manually change? (Using Vanguard if it matters)

Have about ~25k sitting in ROTH TSP. Calculators forecast that’ll be worth about north of~200k by the time I hit retirement at an average rate of 10% growth. Would it make more sense to roll it over into employer (Vangaurd) 401k plan to have more buying power of certain funds? Or are the expense fees that good and low in the TSP that I should just keep it in place?

How much do you think is an acceptable percentage of your salary to spend on rent? I hear 30% of gross salary but that equals 54% of my take home salary when you factor in 401k, ESPP, healthcare, dental, FSA etc. What are your thoughts?
